Most unfriendly place I’ve ever visited in the UK by a country mile is Lampeter. The whole time we were there we were aggressively asked “are you English?”. I got randomly assaulted by this big fat monster of a woman in a pub, apparently she didn’t like the way I looked at her and she just started battering me. Then she had the cheek to call the police and said I assaulted her. They took one look at the cctv, saw I did literally nothing apart from sit there and be battered and they asked if I wanted to press charges. I didn’t want to go through the rigmarole of it so I said no. Should have in hindsight.
Couldn’t wait to get away from the place. Will never go back.

To be honest, Keith, I cop a load of abuse off the keyboard warriors for being |South Walian and not being able to speak Welsh. As soon as I criticise the Senedd (facebook page on Welsh politics) they ask straightaway, am I Cymraeg, do I speak Cymraeg, do I want indepepndence and when I answr no to number 2 the abuse starts...I can't be Welsh and not speak it and off they go.
I take a dim view of any Welsh person who promotes the abolishing of the Senedd.
Why is there a Senedd at all? The reason is our ancestors fought and died for it a few hundred years ago. They fought not to be English. I respect them and honour their sacrifice as I do the WW1 and WW2 heroes. I do not have a historical 'cut off'. Why should I have an artificial cut of date of say 1900? Why not 1110 to 1460? the ' warm period". In 1998 their ' Victory' was announced.
I would not even worry about a Reform led Senedd as long as they were 100% committed to its long term future. We have yet to see how Welsh the flag waving MS s like Jason O'Connell Llyr Powel and Jonathan Evans really are? The lovely Laura Jones cannot be trusted and would love to be an MP. The shopping is so much better in London. I suspect they dance to Farage's tune and might even promote a referendum . No way for me. Defeat would end the National football team in time. There is no free lunch. We become another nameless dull place over run by Globalization and Michael Jackson.

She went to some far flung Russian place in the Caucuses. The woman she spoke to in a village knew no Russian and the communicated in English the Caucasian learned from Satellite TV.

The battle of Shrewsbury was 1068 two years after Hastings.
If you not not like the sound of the Welsh language just accept it like you do for the Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in your corner shop or stay away.

He supports Leeds though but moved to the North West and Warrington in RL. A big percentage of my friends are English. Yes the banter is really great and that's the way it should be. Was working in Saes land today. Greater Malvern. What a beautiful place and as always was treated wonderfully by the locals. I think a lot of Brummie immigrants have moved there also. 😉. Absolutely love the landscape of the border areas. Only downside no coastline.

Never said anything about them speaking Welsh in Lampeter. I just said it was unfriendly because that was my experience there.
