| Plaid Cymru on 19:58 - Oct 6 by Gwyn737 | That’s outcomes. They’re not disadvantaged by the system, they’re disadvantaged because they don’t value education like many ethnic minorities. Nit defending the policy at all, but it is imo of interest that in Wales there’s the % of people from ethnic minorities and the % that become teachers. |
What youre refferring to is the educational outcomes between races not the amount of ethnic teachers in the proffesion So we the taxpayer have to pay to get someone just to satisfy some number cruncher/diversity manager . How about getting the best instead they happen to be a different shade from the majority, what matters is what & how the child is taught not the colour of the teacher , Even this government sponsored report (2.2) had to make reference to a serial criminal, george flloyd an US citizen but somehow relevant to the Welsh education system https://darpl.org/wp-content/u

| Plaid Cymru on 21:46 - Oct 6 with 1030 views | AnotherJohn | The positive discrimination in favour of ethnic minorities, such as the extra £5K for trainee teachers mentioned, isn't illegal because our Senedd wants it that way. The Public Sector Equality Duty created by the Equality Act has been beefed up in Wales by the Senedd's Welsh-specific equality duties set out in the The Equality Act 2010 (Statutory Duties) (Wales) Regulations 2011. All public sector bodies are mandated by law to give an edge to anybody other than members of the white indigenous population. The PSED is one answer to Gwyn's question about whether and how white youngesters are disadvantaged. there is no statutory basis for doing more for them, while there is for young people from ethnic minorities. As I said, I don’t agree with the policy. However, if you want the best it makes sense to ask why higher performing groups aren’t entering the profession. | | | |

How would that policy significantly effect academic attainment? I use the word significantly as that describes the gap.

If an enticement of of money is the only way to attract the best then maybe their not the best after all , I'm sure that many white candidates have the same financial constraints as the counterparts ,certainly in this current climate .Its like the National Trusts campaign to encourage more non whites to visit the countryside because theres not enough black faces to be seen visting Aberdulais falls , all in the name of diversity ,a word & actions which will eventually sink this country .

By de-prioritising initiatives /projects that would target the problem of underachievement by white working-class youngsters, and at the same time encouraging use of available resources to support PSED objectives (linked to inclusion and ethnicity), which are wider in Wales because of the Wales-specific equality duties in the Regulation. I'd imagine it's a relativley small amount of money. Billions have been poured into supporting disadvantaged children overall (the vast majority are white British) but sadly it's had a negligable impact on standards.

Yes and then promising a third crossing over to Anglesey. How about him and his ilk pop over on one of the two bridges and destroy them when they’re still there. Problem solved!

It is blatantly obvious to anyone with a miniscule brain cell that the problem at the Brynglass tunnels is three lanes going into two and it clears when it returns to three. Closing the junctions and forcing traffic around Spytty only adds to the traffic congestion in that area. The majority of traffic around Brynglass is not Newport bound but through traffic. They should have taken the money for the bypass when offered.

No wonder South Wales are unable to attract new businesses. Thick as mince this lot, the writing was on the wall as soon as they got elected, I see that they are diverting money from childcare to pay for immigrants now, if that is true and I have no doubt that it is, its disgusting.

His name is Rhun. I know you hate Wales and Welsh culture which you have "escaped from" but Anglicising Welsh names is pure ignorance . It's what the Saes do sadly. This however is a Welsh site occupied by strongly Anglicised Welsh people with prejudice. You narrative is that you saved yourself by leaving the Welsh hell hole. It is a fake narrative. Live in England and hang around this Welsh site using English names for Welsh people. No gracias

Everybody knows that if you close a road junction the traffic disappears into thin air. I feel sorry for the poor buggers living neat the next junction which will be constantly grid locked, and will of course spillover onto the M4 when people try to leave the M4 at the junction after the three that are closed. The gross stupidity of these people is becoming predictable.

You use the flag as a crutch. Throw it way and ark your prejudices. Wave a flag and then pretend to represent a community for backing. Once you wave the flag you feel entitled to talk about what other people think. You have Pencoed on board of course.

I do not know why you bring your family into our disagreement. You do not like Wales you do not like Welsh people. I get it. You are welcome to your views. You can insult people how you like but do not be surprised to be called ignorant. Of course with your toxic anti Welsh texts w you will find flag waving fellow travellers on here with loyalty to the Crown of pampered misfits and oddballs. I like Wales and the Welsh. I love the Senedd and what it stands for. It is there because your ancestors fought for it. You denigrate your ancestors. We all have travelled different roads with different experiences. Swansea seems to have given you bitterness that others do not relate to. I have the right to defend the place and the people. And I will. Cymru am byth.
