Are the US Womens team still campaigning for equal pay?
I always thought that was ridiculous.
They should get paid based on the amount of revenue they generate.
Considering the average attendance at US womens national matches was less than half of that for the mens matches for 2016 I would suspect the TV and other commercial revenues generated would be lower too.
Miserable lot. I like watching the girls. It's like games I used to watch up the park. Shame they are coached by men. They'll be diving, time wasting and cheating soon, and then I won't enjoy it.
And whoever asked who'd watch conference football. Football fans of course. Get a grip mum. Don't become a premier league tosser.

They are still fighting it. US Soccer pays the Women's National Team a straight yearly sum win or lose. (Men get bonuses based on performance and appearances)
The problem is that the Women's league here is in such poor financial straits that US Soccer must help, or the players would barely get any money at all. The Women not only want a yearly salary, they also want performance bonuses that are more in like to what the Men make. That money isn't available though because FIFA distributes only about 2 million for winning the Women's World Cup compared to the ungodly amount that the Men's Champ gets.
What we are beginning to see in the US is an exodus as top Women's players are beginning to move to the UK because the pay is better.

But you are missing the point John.
Think women's tennis. Its not about can they beat men, rather its a sport in its own right.
If anyone wants to play and enjoy football then good for them.
If a female multi millionaire steps in and saves the Swans in 20 years or so, then good for them.
The rest of you - stop being so fecking miserable about it. Its a good thing.
The fact women get the same prize money in tennis is a joke. They fought for equal pay for equal rights and all that jargon, got the equal pay but still play less sets in a match because they are female. I'm all for equality but surely equality is equality at all times not when it suits.

I don't think I am. His point was about the standard. Womens tennis is usually very good, often excellent (not as good as mens tennis but very watchable).
Womens football is crap. I'm not saying they shouldn't play and enjoy it and good luck to them. But I don't enjoy it because it's not very good.
Perhaps in 20 years time with far more women playing and the sport having developed it will reach a good standard. They're not there yet.

Darran got to be honest mate all I see on every post is you talking rubbish. Do something more productive.
In terms of Women's football the standard is poor currently but without good media exposure and the income from that it will never get better. As a coach myself I can say that women are usually more commented and put more effort in then men. Physically they will never catch up with the standard of Men's football but I think its good that its getting focus.

Shame Salford University didn't ban the use of the Internet...
The use of the internet is only banned in backwards countries. Other backward countries censor it heavily. Many of those contributed directly to Hilary Clinton's presidential campaign fund. This is not very relevant I know. Just like your latest sly dig at aspects of my personal life. Your obsession with bringing it up is puzzling.
