Also, anyone else notice how in his presser Clement specifically said there were no disciplinary issues with Gylfi and that he didn't travel to America because at the time they were under the impression the deal would be done that weekend. He also confirmed the decision was made between them that Gylfi wouldn't play in the last two games specifically to avoid injury which would obviously halt the transfer.
I looked out for it but there was no mention of the PS version where Gylfi is the devil incarnate and "refused" to go to America or to play for us. Whatever, he's gone now. Lets hope he has his best headless chicken days when Everton play Swansea. | | | |

He said Siggy decided not to go to the States as he felt the deal would go through that weekend. He said there were no disciplinary issues but often said he wanted to work with players that wanted to work and be here.

Talk is cheap. He has to deliver now and more importantly our DOF and his recruiting team have to pull their fingers out to make this a reality. Something i have real concerns about.
Losing Siggy need not be the end of the world and teams can be rejigged and rebuilt under a new coach.
A lot of water has to flow under the bridge before that happens......and pdq as well. |  |

The best football we played during our time in the Prem, perhaps ever, did not involve Sigurdsson. Clement is quite correct in stating that the presence of Gylfi is not essential.
More important to get our attack functioning on a more fluid basis, which will require players who can move the ball quickly and accurately in the danger areas. |  |

Totally agree we can be better post Siggy IF we invest well in 3/4 players in positions needed AND suit the way we intend to play.
I dont think sppunking 20+ million on Chadli or paying over 12m on Clucas is the right path.
We need creativity and goals in the final third and stronger depth at Centre Half and Right Back. |  |

Clement is a good coach. I'm not worried about replacing Siggy. I am worried that not all funds will be reinvested. I also worry about Clement's ability to get the type of player he wants when Moneyball and HJ are drawing up the shortlist. |  |
