The bloke shot by police reaching in to his car.
Any thoughts, apparently he had been tasered but it had no effect, on first watching it I thought it was way off shooting him seven times. I’m uncertain these officers made the right choices but then again I’m uncertain as well as to what Blake was reaching for in the car having failed to stop, stand still or obey instructions from the police.
Not sure those present knew of his previous convictions for gun offences but I’m not sure this has done the coppers a lot of good regardless of the outcome.

The point is the police can’t wait to see what he comes out with, there is nowhere to duck for cover. It is ALREADY a violent situation as he was brawling with them moments before. When you then don’t listen to commands with guns trained on you and reach into your car then there is no other outcome.
Whether it turned out to be his phone or something would just be an unfortunate after detail. No sane person would wait to see what he was getting first. Those that do that often don’t go home. | |

I thought about it in depth and I think I would have done exactly the same. No other real option with a split second to think. Unfortunate.

I agree on the compliance, but the officer had plenty of opportunity to retreat covering the angle between himself and the car. That’s down to his ability and training, confidence etc. However, we will agree to disagree on that one 😉 | |

That was exactly what was going through my mind as I watched that. Her little Cherub had two outstanding arrest warrants for him; a violent rapist who was waiving a gun around in a bar the night before the Police shot him.
