Sounds about right.

Although it’s arguably a rare case where it may be worth him running his contract down. Don’t see too much value in selling when we are in the mix for automatics when we would then have to replace him at a time we certainly won’t be getting value for money.

I vote keep and I’m usually one of the first to be against that kind of thing.

He will not leave in January but he will sign a pre contract agreement with another club. That's just the way football works. I just hope he holds his form until he leaves in the summer.

Most likely outcome - the only ‘hope’ of a sale in Jan would be to a struggling Prem side.

Not a great deal - 31 who has not really performed at PL level for several years.
His value (in ££) in leaving us was in wage saving ... hardly worth it for half a season.
His value to the team is immeasurable. Without his goals, industry and experience I dread to think what we would have been last season and this.

Good thread. The lower the fee the more Ayew gets. He will surely leave it until the summer and if the unthinkable promotion happens he will stay. Makes sense, he has nothing to lose.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Swansea had a similr situation with Pratley and De Vries in 2010 where both were running down their contracts. I was all for selling Pratley for £1.5m. He stayed committed and of curse scored tthat goal v Forest in the play off.

Ayew s value to Swansea is their chance of promotion. With out him it is zero. £10m

That's his value to us but to other teams!

WBA were interested . A hail Mary to save them from relegation. Who else could they parachute in? Austin coming the other way to placate Swansea fans ?

Even with the wage savings there’s no way we’d pay Austin’s wage

With WBA being desperate SCFC would rightfully ask for a contribution. Ayew is the one on a scoring streak. If he carried that on in the PL he would save WBA 10s of millions. The wage contribution would be part of the deal. Remember Swansea need a goal scorer to get to the PL.

The only way I can see the club getting a big transfer fee will be if a club who are either doing really well need cover or a side at the bottom are desperate for a quality recruit to bolster the squad. Any other club could afford to pick him up on a freebie next summer.

I don’t think the club would get much more than £2m for Ayew. By January he’ll have about 6 months left on his contract and that should equate to about £2m in wages if his reported £80k per week is correct. If he goes, I can see the club bringing in a couple of reinforcements for the same outlay.

He's worth whatever the highest bidder offers vs an educated punt by Winter on the value of Ayew delivering EPL football next year. A simple equation.

Bit like the same equation as when Winter evaluated the Rodon bid from the highest (and only) bidder.
