Don't you rate Downes then yesterday you were saying he is not going anywhere and it's just agents doing their jobs.
Now he is not our star player.
He is a very good player though.
It must be hard for some accepting that no PL team has shown any interest in Grimes.
Was it Adrian Mole who posted last week that Grimes had covered for Downes all last season.

From the moment Downes walked on to the pitch he looked a class act and one that really should have seen Grimes benched. Downes is that good.
What does Russ do;effective shove him backwards to cover for our goalkeeper who ,staggeringly,is still number 1.
Fisher doesnt look like he hasnbeen developed and Flynn ,IN MY OPINION has developed in spite of Russ not because of him.

If it is Downes that goes I just hope the price is good enough that we keep Piroe. If it's right that Obafemi is going nowhere though, I do wonder if we would be better off if we got 15 million for Piroe and kept Downes?
Piroe playing in behind isn't ideal for me, his goal return slowed down when that happened. So is selling Piroe and keeping Downes a better idea? If Martin can get Ntcham properly fit, 90 minutes fit maybe we wouldn't miss Piroe so much? Maybe then we keep Joseph too but use him as a proper striker off the bench tather than play him (and others) out of position. | |
