In fact he came across as exceptionally realistic, extremely aware of the clubs financial position and supportive of the players he has managed to recruit and keep this summer so far. Even those self motivated, selfish players. 1 Me,Me,Me click above. Me,Me,Me click below.

Is this pointed at the likes of Bennet and Fulton who have contracts......Would you move from a job for less money if you didnt have to which they dont need to do they ? Or is this pointed at Ogebeta ?

Ogbeta has turned down moves so it's not him. Martin's just having a cry because players have the nerve to look out for their careers, and have representatives doing their jobs and searching out potential steps up. Excuses, excuses. Every manager has to deal with it and it's silly to suggest it only happens during transfer windows.

I would say Piroe and Obafemi. But that’s just a guess.

He defended Paterson to the hilt but now he's moaning when other players are apparently behaving in a similar fashion. I'll say the same now as I did then, shut up and get on with your well paid job. If you deserve it a better opportunity will come along. Keep moaning and not playing well enough and those opportunities will disappear.

Goes for them all for me. They are all responsible.

Absolutely, Keith. They behave like a bunch of mollycoddled kids. Mind you, I blame their agents too for putting ideas in their heads. For the younger players, where are their parents? If my son turned out to be good enough there's no way he's having a pro agent. They are all about profit and can ruin careers.

It's a predatory industry (see agents showing up for tea on Iwan Morgan's 16th birthday to discuss signing on, standard practice) but an absolutely necessary evil. It's always better to have someone who knows what they're doing to be fighting your corner than trying to puzzle it out yourself. Employers will take advantage if you're not clued up, and should they decide they no longer want you well you're on your own. Having a parent act as agent solves nothing. Adrien Rabiot's mum is a nightmare by all accounts.

Your posts have lacked logic recently. It is definitely Ogbeta and Bennett. Ogbeta will rightly argue he has only just arrived and why in that case did they sign him in the first place and not give him a chance. If Martin says "you are not my sort of player" then why did he allow this signing?. Martin wants to move them out not keep them at the club. You have misread the scenario. Bennet wants full pay. It is simple. Swansea should either keep him to come off the bench in the last 20 mins like at Oxford, Reading and AFBC for example or take whatever they can get back in wages. He has no need to take a pay cut. The extra cup tie v Palace would have covered some of his wages. If Reading pay £5k a week it is £250k extra to spend. Martin is a 'high churn' manager. He moves on up and coming young players and replaces them with loans. If he could get 7-8 new signing every year he would go for it. Hopefully now there will be no signings of players the manager refuses to pick. And Academy players given long contract will be vetted by Martin as potential first teamers. Garrick is on an upward trajectory. 40+ games 7 goals 8 assists. If he improves on that he is doing very well 10 goals 10 assists would be a statement. Similarly Joseph and Whittaker. I expect Garrick to do best followed by Joseph and Whittaker. [Post edited 12 Aug 2022 19:09]

Where's the logic in that? edit: Maybe I am getting confused. Martin never uses the term "selfish" that's all come from the article writer. I'm sure they can say themselves who they're referring to, but Martin's quotes only refer to players being distracted by the transfer window (unless he's said more elsewhere). At least a parent wants the best for their kid, I'd hope anyway. Agents are, as you say, predatory. In my sons case I'd be trying to make sure he didn't run before he can walk and not to get too greedy. Some of these players want it all before they earned it. I've been told Bony's son turns up to training in a big flashy car and has a watch worth a years salary to most of us! Though the source of that did also say he was the exception.

The wages Wilf earned in his career on I'm amazed his kids don't come to training by helicopter. Geoffroy's not earning enough to pay insurance on anything bigger than a moped by himself. Those lads we brought over from Chelsea are sharing rooms in the houses of volunteers. Single beds and undercooked chicken for dinner. There's a difference between wanting what's best, knowing what's best, and having the know-how to accomplish what's best.

Nail on the head. Martin is a fraud. Without powerpoint. What we all need is a proper Cooperesque young manager who get's it. Martin has too many diverse agendas, too focused on himself and brand Martine; getting into bed (literally, in Martin Morgan's home) with Martin Morgan - getting into bed with the Sellouts - who'd have thunk it. Yet the Martinistas here turn a blind eye, in blind faith, with no rationale whatsoever. Staggering incompetence, in so many ways - Martin and not-so-clever fans. . .

"Those lads we brought over from Chelsea are sharing rooms in the houses of volunteers. Single beds and undercooked chicken for dinner." That comment is really unfair on the volunteers who help the club and host the players.

If you watched the S4C documentary a few weeks ago you'll have seen the undercooked chicken (and microwaved rice). Lighten up. Not aware of any salmonella in the academy ranks so it can't be too bad.

Yeah you're right here. I was puzzled where he'd called someone selfish. From what I heard, the players getting their head turned are obviously Piroe and another who I reckon is more likely to be Oba.
