Assume this is televised. Already know people who aren’t going because it messes with their Saturday night plans. Swans 2 Birmingham 1 19,452

Getting so sick of all these feeble excuses for not supporting our fabulous club. 5 30pm kick off could have the potential to be 2nd best to a Friday night for an alcohol induced atmosphere.

Some people clearly prioritise other things, as I’ve said before the big supoort we got together over many years in south west of England I would imagine if 20% still go I would be surprised. However, the clubs attendances have been healthy since Matos arrived so a good few thousand are coming back. Imagine if we could win games far easier ? It’s a lot more entertaining now though. It’s going in the right direction.

Agree Keith. There is a much more positive feel around the club since the arrival of Vitor. He is an absolute breath of fresh air.

Im with you....all sport should be 2.30/3pm Saturdays Unfortunately tv companies have won the day....its why crowds are diminishing and has wrecked rugby too Saturday games at 3 pint beofre the game swift one after and still home in time for Saturday evening plans

We're not too far away from that. There are very few Premier League games played at 3pm on a Saturday now for that very point. There is little point in a blackout if there aren't any games to show anyway! So many other points on this. Friday night v Wrexham, live on TV, middle of a storm and 20,000+ turn up. There are no excuses really.

| Swansea City v Birmingham City : Match day thread on 04:09 - Jan 14 with 6948 views | Swans9 | I don't mind the tea time KO I not interested in the Manchester derby but it means we can see the scores before our game. I would take a draw to give the players some confidence before the six pointer with Blackburn. Unfortunately I can see the attendance affected by fans watching it on TV. I will go for 1 1 and 16600 attendance. Armchair football is on the increase until we get more successful on the pitch or if Modric signs. | | | |
| Swansea City v Birmingham City : Match day thread on 12:45 - Jan 14 with 6734 views | RichardO | Let hope we can create the chances again and put them away clinically meaning as we attack we can get players into good attacking position while keeping things tight defensively and not leave ourselves open to counter attacks as we committed too many players forward without cover. Just a thought but there are many rugby clubs in the surrounding area who will finish their home matches by 4.00. this Saturday . Lots of those clubs will be in a radius of Swansea that is accessible for a 5.30 ko. and there is potentially a lot of supporters who may be unaware of the late K.O for the Swans on Sat. Maybe the club should be making rugby clubs aware of a late ko in case there are members who might attend but for the fact they are not aware of the KO time. | | | |

From my experience they would rather retire to the bar and watch the rugby on TV.

You are probably right for the majority but I daresay there may be a few dual code followers who might be interested . Incidentally there are a hell of a lot of rugby clubs within that 1 hour travel radius .

| Swansea City v Birmingham City : Match day thread on 20:06 - Jan 14 with 6323 views | jack247 | The reality on attendances is we can sell out for Wrexham on Black Friday. A night a lot of businesses close for a week or so (meaning staff go out) during the most expensive time of the year. If that game was 5.30 this Saturday, I’m sure we would be there or thereabouts. We do have a loyal hardcore, but it’s just not that big. Only sustained success will change that. | | | |

🤣 It made me laugh the other day when I read that Pencoed is the dogging capital of Wales. I suspect you are the peeping tom looking through the car windows. I guess you find it more exciting than watching the Swans. [Post edited 14 Jan 21:55]

The Swans hardcore fanbase who go to games has increased dramatically over the years. When hooe was almost lost with Sheehan the club were getting 14k plus. its now 3k higher. Saturday will give some insight I’m certain.

| Swansea City v Birmingham City : Match day thread on 12:53 - Jan 15 with 5905 views | grabsplatter | I haven't paid much attention to attendance figures for us this year but to anyone who goes to games it's obvious that we're on the up. Some of the published figures don't tell the whole story, there are season ticket holders who weren't going to games that are returning. That doesn't affect announced attendances but there are less empty seats & a better atmosphere. | | | |
