Norwich City v Swansea City : Match day thread 20:27 - Apr 22 with 8862 viewsModeratorC

Only a handful of tickets left from the two blocks allocated not sure if there is another block to open. But currently on 1,064 tickets ish. šŸ‘ Cardiff would have taken more.

Diplomatic Matos before the trip east today : Stamenić interest confirmed 24th Apr 2026 08:00
Swans head coach, Vitor Matos remained diplomatic and carefully chose his words in a more enigmatic pre match than we have seen for a few games. He was jovial and added humour to some topics, even laughing about his own Swansea contract offer, and how it came about. 0

Swans continue their good away form but that first half ! 25th Apr 2026 18:46
This game went from a complete sleep fest in the first half riddled with incompetency to a pretty exciting second half which saw the officials intervening with two penalties. The Championship continues to baffle. 2

Very decent following to what I believe to be the worst ground for us to get to the league.

The North East is far easier.

Been to Norwich twice I'm highly unlikely to go again.

Played there a few times with the band, always issues with knives or people getting battered, very unlike the modern day punk rock scene.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

I have a soft spot for east Anglia as it was/ is a SpeedwY hot sport one time it has six tracks of I remember right
Boston, Peterborough , Mildenhall , Norwich and of course the two big clubs in KingsLynn and Ipswich
The derbies between Ipswich and Kings Lynn were almost blood baths ; very tasty indeed
From us it’s not too bad a trip

Is this something that’s going to hamper his career, being injury prone?

Hope we do when he first came here he was full of promise which after reverting to the position I thought he'd thrive he has been most disappointing at times just hope under Matos coaching he improves, think there is a good assess for the team but his game needs better management by himself.

Interesting to see several players upping their game, play for their future near or far away, I'm sure a couple of players in our recent past have had one eye somewhere else at this time of the season looking for that better contract hence playing with a little more enthusiasm.

I remember Keith saying players contracts are now bonus loaded, I wonder if that has an effect on the effort at the end of the season, the better the results the more you are paid.

That is very much the case throughout the season, but players will have end of season positional finish most certainly in their contracts. I would prefer it to be a squad getting better ready for next season. šŸ˜‰

He is a liability
It’s why we brought in Ward , we were that worried and rightly so
A few cameo performances shouldn’t merit yet another contract
Parker even now is a far stronger player

Why start Yalcouye? These games should be planning for next season and he won’t be part of it.

Why start Ward
He’s short pieces
I’m fearful he will be targeted today
Hopefully not
That isn’t our strongest 11

Only thing I can think is Key is not fully fit. But if he is, I’m scratching my head.

Or Matos views him as some do, ie rather too big a risk
RB has been our problem for so long
Norwich have pace
The buggers
Hopefully we ( forum) can have a respectful discussion after this game

He's just come back from injury don't read to much into him being on the bench.

This is an awfully boring game. I really don’t like end of season games. If I hadn’t already been fir my walk today, I’d go now šŸ˜’

On holidays already, letting Norwich walk through us no tackle , no determination and no interest by the looks of it
They need to realise the fans have paid a lot of money and had a long and arduous journey to get there and deserve to see a bit of effort
