I had expected trouble in Paris. but was gobsmacked when I saw the videos circulating online of civil disturbance in the UK capital city. I'd say that London has changed radically even since the end of the 1960s. It was more diverse than most other UK cities but did not yet have such large ethnic enclaves. The whole 'vive' was different. I can remember driving my frog-eye Sprite up from Canterbury where I lived between 1968 and 71 and parking free in Regent's Park. No huge traffic jams and a free-flowing M2. It really was a different world. [Post edited 11 Jul 21:25]

I've no doubt that I posted on here about Wife and I visit to London to see Peter Kay at the O2 never want to see him again, not live anyway, on the tele I/ can turn tele off.
We stayed at Waterloo, its enough to say never ever again.
London Bridge and area around O2 was ok. but Waterloo or anywhere near Westminster Bridge is a no go. Its very sad to see what it's become.

Wembely Town centre was great attending a gig in The Stadium , a really nice walk into the area and a beer in the Weatherspoons as you do .

Very samey samey, only thing that has changed is his weight, changing words of songs to include a variety of chocolate bars etc whilst flying about in a suspended balloon
He's earning money for old rope, the second half was a borefest,first half wasn't a great deal better either, never again.

It’s why the greatest comedian and performer of all was Ken Dodd who remained hysterical until the end

Comedians seem to have a life cycle of around five years. Kay obviously has stretched that out but if a Peter Kay show is deemed boring then he’s a busted flush (albeit his shows over the past two years have earned him a few hundred million)
Comedians like Micky Flanagan earn their crust and then disappear for a few years or become a woke accepting comedian like Michael McIntyre preferring to have their art dampened down for tv money. Cant say that about Jimmy Carr although his stage show would never be broadcast on national tv in a million years. |  |
