| Shut down Sport. 18:31 - Jan 8 with 1673 views | onehunglow | Clearly measures are not working. There is no sign of any common sense whatsoever. New grotesque contracts are being negotiated at a time when millions face unemployment and the most difficult times ever. It is obscene. Footballers are simply acting ,as many see them to be,terminally greedy and shallow.Ive never know so many people recoiling from sport at this moment . No wonder when players see in the New Year getting ratarsed with players from other clubs totally ignoring any rules or common sense. Time to call a halt to this ,I think. Plenty are dying as I write this, others seeing loved ones suffer and all the while businesses and shops are vanishing before our eyes. Yet we see such horrendous stupidity fuelling this virus. Stay safe folks | |

People popping off on holiday, shooting off to do business deals that could be done over the phone/zoom, pop stars being pictured on Caribbean islands. Then returning here. Little wonder it's everywhere. Yes on the other hand. Local boy Mark Jones, the ex Wales winger, came home from NZ in September , and isn't allowed back in NZ because they won't let anyone in. He is a coach at Canterbury. So Mark has now taken a coaching job at Worcester.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Players,at this moment are working out as to how they can earn even more money when there is no gate money coming in . Disgusting. They won't be concerned about anything else apart from themselves. And they can't avoid hugging and kissing? Are they that lacking in self discipline. Plenty of "ordinary" folk have to cope with far greater issues. All in it together.Myarse we are.

Most of them have behaved responsibly, followed the rules to the point and tried to do the right thing. Like society though there is a significant chunk which is probably a minority who are far too important to bother with any of that nonsense and will just carry on as normal with rampant sex parties or jetting off to some hot spot.

If the season stopped now we would be 2nd on points per game so would we be promoted. Hypothetical I know but worth considering

People have more time than ever but are clueless about how to maximise their lives. Technology ,in many ways, has killed us Families mainly have their tea/dinner infront of telly whilst kid are glued to their phones. 57 Channels and nothing on

I tend to agree with you mate, watching football at home has helped keep me sane (ish), it wasn't to bad the first lockdown, weather was generally good, with loads to do in the garden. But I can see the point of those wanting to shut down sport. [Post edited 8 Jan 2021 20:41]

Talk of shutting them down when they're quite capable of continuing under a strict testing regime is just silly.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Some may have some minor heallth issues later. Swansea can go far in this competition with a full healthy squad. Every thing is stacked against Swansea but this is a bit of a leveller. Its an attritional test of the fittest amd most disciplined. Villa kids are giving Liverpool a decent conest. Villa wiped out by Covid. Oh yes Grealish two times rule breaker is captain. That figures. Nature has its own laws and justice. Those that follow the rules can benefit. UK is going through the peak during this cold snap. The players are the only ones that can stop the game and that means furlough pay. Football has organised itself to be very low risk so should continue. There is no good reason for stoping.

As a dad of a football mad 10 year old, he’s starting to really struggle without training and matches. I miss it too. At least his coach has been brilliant and kept in touch with the boys.

Is there any evidence that footballers would stop breaking rules if the season was halted? Id argue it would lead to more breaches because they clubs wouldn't be keeping as close an eye on them and they'd not be tested as often.

How about we make them work on a Covid ward as they think they’re Superman then.

Anyone can hold the hand of someone dying from it Chief. Try it yourself sometime. It’s a bit more difficult than kicking a ball around a field.

Its an emotive subject but be rational. Patients dying in hospital can't have their families there to hold their hands, but you think they should have footballers do it instead!?

That can't be a serious reply? For what reason? If they're going to start letting in random people to wards, families may as well be left in

Struggling to see your point here? Are you saying that if some footballers got to see it first hand, they'd take the pandemic more seriously? Is that it?
