| People need to stop complaining 15:46 - Mar 14 with 1347 views | trampie | Swans are doing fantastically well, Cooper is doing a marvellous job, Hourihane has done great and scored vital goals since he came in, Woodman in goal is a fantastic shot stopper and one of the main reasons Swans are doing so well. Players and staff are likely to see posts or hear about them from here, all this negativity from some on this site is unjustified and bat sh*t crazy as the team is doing fantastically well. Fans need to get behind the players and staff and encourage them till the end of the season, constructive criticism is fine but I read this site in recent weeks and if I didn't know better I would have thought we was in a relegation fight and not chasing promotion. Come on the Swans. | |

Footballers ( some a lot more than others ), staff ( again some more than others ) and supporters are all affected by derogatory remarks, criticism and general comments which try to put them down or belittle their efforts. We are indeed all human. I think. And football is a bit different in that these forums allow people with very little or no experience or knowledge of the game, a platform to air their views which very often aren’t balanced in the slightest. The comments can be personal ( eg coward ) and vindictive. With no suggestion or chance of retaliation as we are anonymous. That is in itself cowardly. To the original post: you are of course right. Opinions are welcome, both positive and negative. But they need to be balanced and constructive otherwise they will be laughed at and discarded. But not necessarily by any young player for example who is already very low on self confidence. It’s a cruel old world sometimes. Get behind our team. Be thoughtful and constructive. Meanwhile if Swansea get promoted this season it’ll go down as the best of all promotions, taking everything into account at this moment. Reaching the play offs again must be viewed as a success too. In a season completely hit by Covid and everything that goes with it our staff and squad have been immense. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠

Exactly what you alluded to in in your previous comment, completely respect the opinion but see it a different way. If footballers choose to engage in social media then They need to be able to deal with what people say and not go there for an ego boost Generally99.9 percent of the time I think we as fans are excellent when in the stadium supporting and it’s only here that we get out frustrations out with likeminded people (well swans fans anyway)

Some people are fragile, there is a saying sticks and stones might break my bones but words will never hurt me, but it doesn't apply to everybody and less and less in this day and age, look at all the fuss about players being really hurt by racial abuse directed at them on social media, people take direct criticism to heart. Swans are in a great position in the league and I'm sure the fans getting right behind them could help with their confidence if only to a small degree.

Yes I take on board your comments Footballers can manage to perform out on a pitch, it’s their stage, whilst struggling completely away from it. Their friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances will look at forums. Entertainers can do it. Get on a stage and into a different persona. But straight after? Strong characters can get through it. Even they can succumb. Everyone can put on a brave face. Pretend they’re ok. But confidence is a fragile commodity. We need to understand that. It’s why Steve Cooper should be applauded for his efforts this season. Of course we can disagree with his team selection, his formation, but he’s doing an incredibly difficult job really well and deserves respect, if nothing else. He’s not a “fraud“ for example, that’s very clear.

That's it exactly, on here is the place for the moaning an criticisms. In the stadium we should be getting behind the team. Unfortunately we aren't allowed in right now. You're right about social media too.

| People need to stop complaining on 00:36 - Mar 16 with 1039 views | AndyCole | Great thread. There are far too many who prefer to always moan. One poster is proud of saying he comes on here to moan. Imagine if he did that in real life, with his wife and child ? A downward spiral. Maybe its a mindset thing, in the dna, programmed to fail. Moaning, whingeing and failing is anathema to most thank goodness. Those that moan, whinge and fail should think before they speak, on a public forum, for all to see. It really isn't a good look. | |

That's just more nonsesnes though. Players get praise where it's due but criticism where it's due too. That's life for you. In the ground we should encourage as much as possible but why do you think a well paid sportsperson should be protected from criticism? In which other job does a poor performance always draw praise and support? Winners, true winners have a strength of character, they improve and overcome sometimes by sheer strength of will.We have won several games through that effort, it doesn't mean we can't hope for and want better performances. Floating fans won't keep turning up to watch poor games, they want entertaining too. It's why Trundle helped us so much, he put bums on seats. Which player do you turn up to watch? Who in our team gets you off your seat?

Wish I had said that. Players and the great master tactician and coach Steve need to print that out and stick it on the dressing room door. They are lucky to be employed by our club and they will be gone when the club replaces them.

I was very impressed by Bournemouth last night, how they are where they are is a mystery. The way things are going we are heading for another top six finish, would you class that as failure? We are far from easy on the eye, but we accumulate points on a regular basis. It's blatantly obvious you want Cooper out, who do you want to replace him? Careful what you wish for

Morning ray and a fair riposte, not much invective there. However, looking at this site of late,it is not pertinent to reply a you suggest except to say that WHEN Steve walks away I will still hopefully be around tending my Geraniums, roses and not pushing up daisies personally . I am happily retired so it is not my job to suggest a job to anyone. There ya go,Champ. Be lucky

Lets be honest. Any fan thinking that players have even a fraction of the unfettrered stupid love for their club is insane. NO player feels that today. A club is an employer who can pay them in a week what most earn in a year. They work -what- 3 hours training 3 times per week and play twice a week, some get paid NOT to play and simply sit on their 'rse and look sad. They get an injury they do not have to wait for treatment.Bit different to the outside worls.Need a scan-no prob, done next day.Need operation,no problem either.Do that this week. They get called names on social media and that upsets them?Nah,it hurts their egos. No mas,por favor
