| Attacking, Creative Football on 10:47 - Sep 22 with 2833 views | Evs | All the very best of luck to Coops at Forest. I snoozed through most of his games, but he certainly found a way to grind out result after result (until the wheels eventually came off, spectacularly). This wasn't, however, a brand of football that interested me particularly. His attacking, creative phase will certainly be fascinating. | | | |

That will not change.” Isn’t that some kind of juxtaposition, or at the very least a lie.

| Attacking, Creative Football on 12:40 - Sep 22 with 2701 views | YrAlarch | We should give him time to see if he can fulfill that promise. He has quite a challenge ahead of him. I personally see him grinding out results rather than what he promises, certainly for the immediate future. The question is, with Forest's track record on Managers, how long will he be given. | | | |

4 transfer windows, surely Most good coaches adapt a game plan towards the players they have. If they have more technical players at Forest then he may well deliver it. Let’s wait and see, taking over when they are bottom, let’s see if he gets them out of it. I have no doubt he will personally.

Forest have a decent squad, no way they will be anywhere near the bottom come May. Basket case of a club when it comes to managers.

Yep like when he went 5 at the back later on in season 2020/21. Shame he didn’t have the dynamics or possibly squad to change it when opponents got wise to it.

Indeed, hence why he was literally screaming about getting players he wanted in January. The squad was crying out for it. The owners dropped a massive bollock in January with that they brought in. It was baffling at the time and turned out to be exactly as expected.

Based on our last 2 games then I would say that we are creating and attacking more and fingers crossed that's us going forward. Too early to compare as it stands though.

In our last 2 matches we were held goalless for 3 halves out of the 4 we played in. We have only scored in 1 of our last 9 halves of football. We can certainly compare what has happened so far. Whether you think it stays like that is another discussion altogether. However as it stands:- First 8 games under Cooper = 97 shots and 12 goals First 8 games of 2nd Cooper season = 96 shots and 10 goals .......... First 8 games under Martin = 80 shots and 7 goals That is a significant difference. [Post edited 23 Sep 2021 8:05]

Clear stats on the surface but when you scratch the surface.... Cooper had a pre season plus players like Ayew, Rodon, Van Der Hoorn, Connor Roberts, Celina and ultimately a settled squad that didn't have a big turnaround from the year before.

But that isn't an argument as to why we weren't more attacking? Those are excuses as to why we were... Martin has Laird, Piroe, Ntcham, Downes and Pato - which of course Cooper didn't. That was also our first season after losing Dan James and Ollie McBurnie in pre season. In terms of a turnaround of players. At this stage both Cooper and Martin had 6 new players in their starting 11 and 5 legacy players from the old manager. The turnaround was the same. [Post edited 23 Sep 2021 8:32]

So what team had better players? Today's team or Coopers?

Hard to say. I guess the test is asking would I swap:- Williams, Ntcham, Piroe, Obafemi, Pato, Downes and Laird... for Ayew, Roberts, Guehi, Woodman and Lowe. Can't say I would to be honest. [Post edited 23 Sep 2021 8:58]

Coopers team certainly cost alot more in wages. Ayew's wage alone probably funds at least 4 players, probably more.

That’s because it was a contract already agreed years prior.

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |
