Now Wales have qualified, how do the playoffs work ?
The winners of each group automatically qualify for the World Cup finals, which run from November 21 to December 18 2022, and three more teams will seal their place at the end of the playoffs in March. The playoffs take place from March 24 to 29, with 10 group runners-up joined by the two best group winners from the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League overall ranking that have neither qualified directly as group winners nor entered the playoffs already as group runners up.
These 12 teams will be drawn into three playoff paths for one-off semi-finals and a final, with the three path winners then qualifying for the tournament in Qatar. The draw will be seeded based upon qualifying-round points - with the two UEFA Nations League teams being unseeded.
Who's through and who needs what ?
The order of preference for the two teams to enter the playoffs (if required) via the Nations League, of teams who are still able to use this route, is France, Wales, Austria, Czech Republic, meaning Robert Page's side are already guaranteed a playoff berth via their Nations League rankings.MAs Austria, and either Wales or Czech Republic, are guaranteed to finish outside the top two in their group, no other country is in contention for one of the two additional places.

Wales have to go got broke on Saturday. The Czechs are level with us on points, but their goal difference is +2 better than ours. If we win we go 3 points ahead, but they have Estonia to play and we have Belgium. They will pick up 3 points and maybe a hatful of goals, our game against Belgium is a tough one. To give ourselves any sort of chance we need to win well. There are lots of permutations, but I’d have thought at least 4 points. If we don’t get 4 points, then we have to try and smash Belarus, hope the Czechs don’t win/win well and that Belgium don’t tonk us and smash our GD.

IMO ,Martin is killing careers as did Cooper .
Cabango seen as one who can’t play the ball on the ground out if defence .
He can however tackle,head a ball and not be blown over. | |

Martin, it is accepted by fans to be in a transitional phase with the club. The back four is ageing with three 32-33 in age.
If you are giving Martin a season to develop the style and particularly playing it out from the back like Brendan and Potter did then using three 32-33 year old's is illogical.
As soon as they perfect it their legs will have gone as they hit 33-34. Benda, Cabango and Cooper can only improve being in their early 20's.
