| Thank you Welsh government on 15:00 - Mar 17 with 2292 views | Catullus | It's more a case of thank you tax payers isn't it? I agree it's a good thing but this isn't money from Gething or Drakefords own own pockets, it's from all of our pockets, or where else is it coming from? It's a thank you from the People of Wales to all NHS staff | |

While they're at it they can give all the others that have worked through the pandemic a bonus, like supermarket employees and all those that worked on the vaccine and those that trialled it etc etc.

Yeah, the postman/woman, delivery drivers and refuse collectors who kept the world going while most of us were told to hide. They all deserve something. I agree with the point of view that this "bonus" is political point scoring just before an election.

Absolutely and these are key workers . I was gonna suggest the police too but they're expected to do it and are not really special enough. The ones who face those who really do not give a fark who catches covid

Oh the police too, and the armed forces, the volunteers who elivered medicines to friends and neighbours....there are a lot of people who helped get us through this but they don't earn brownie points like throwing a small bonus at the NHS.

In the run up to an election. If you were a cynic like me, you might argue they're using taxpayer money to buy votes, or at the very least shore up their vote in a part of the electorate that normally leans towards Labour...

This increase in nukes is a disgrace, no arguments there surely. Why do we need them? Not that we'll be handing it back but this bonus, my wife will get it. She has been mostly working from home and has been at home totally since December 20th, she was allowed to because I was told to shield. In our case this potential ploy won't work, neither of us will vote Labour.

To win the election they only need to remind people that Johnson has overseen the death of 125,000 uk citizens through his failed exceptionalism and Little Englander arrogance. The Tory fate in Wales is already sealed.

This isnt the first time they handed out money. They gave £500 last year hoping the UK government wouldnt tax it but they decided to.

Drakeford has overseen a higher death rate in Wales than any of the four nations. Only coming down thanks to the UK VACCINATION programme. Just as well the UK left the EU vaccine process in June an invested in a UK developed vaccine.

| Thank you Welsh government on 18:30 - Mar 17 with 2174 views | majorraglan | I have worked through the pandemic and it’s been exceptionally challenging, but I have not had to contend with what the front line NHS staff have had to go through. I know people who’ve gone through the trauma of caring for high numbers of dying patients on Covid Wards with depleted staff numbers. They’re well worth the payrise. | | | |

The government could ask the furloughed bunch to give up some of the thousands they have received to help pay the NHS an amount as a thank you - I guess that would fall on deaf ears though. Happy for them to be stuck in an incubating unit for covid in case they may be the one that needs saving but not happy to give their savings to those who were on the proper front line.

So i am guessing you are on the Board for Microsoft or Audi or similar ...? Big big tax payer, right ? If not ..,then you are no better than any of the rest of us, and the only conclusion to draw is that you are ignorant and arrogant in equal measure. Try and improve your own life and stop trying to blame other people. Good luck.
