It can’t be anything else. 25th Apr 2022 15:53The decision for Swansea City to ‘ move on’ sporting director Mark Allen on Friday seemed to be a bolt out of the blue for him and for many Swansea City supporters who hold an interest in the behind the scenes functioning of the club. The question has to be why would this happen with so much progress allegedly being made ?  1

The mention in there of the January transfer window - at the time or just prior the tall was Silverstein calling the shots. So is Allen the fall guy? Silverstein as a director obviously isn't stepping aside.
As time goes on and it's clear we're destined for the mid table, the Ogbeta signing is looking even more baffling considering his lack of minutes, his injury troubles, his price tag despite being out of contract this summer. |  |

You might have guessed I'm not too enthused with this current coach .Now,add in the absent,fundless owners and the inevitable player exodus,so what reasons are they to be sanguine about next season.
This year we won't have any play offs to fret or get excited about so it would be nice to go into the summer with something to look forward to apart from wild swimming and textile free barbeques with friends. | |

Ogbeta's injuries seem just unfortunate. He played 50+ games in 12 months at Shrewsbury, so it's not like he had longstanding issues. Picked up a knock in the very last game and aggravated it on his first day of training.
Last year we paid a fee for Kieron Freeman when he'd been a free agent for months before signing for Swindon short term. And then we never played him. So we've got previous. But Ogbeta being ex-City doesn't look great for ex-City Mark Allen when there's so much money flying around. | | | |

The minutes, or lack of, from the like of Ogbeta, Burns and even Ntcham isn’t great for a club looking for value. Add Williams who was a flop and Walsh who didn’t last very long doesn’t help either. Wolf hasn’t been what you’d expect from a Bundesliga player, and Fisher hasn’t convinced.
But with Allen and Scott gone this season you do wonder what the plan is. | | | |

Yes unfortunate timing, but the fact of the matter is we signed an injured player in the January window who was out of contract end of season. And we paid a decent fee for him considering the circumstances.
Freeman was cheaper but yes that was also a bizarre one.
Exactly that's why I made the Ogbeta point, I assume he was an Allen signing. | |

The January window was a mess.
For a season that was meant to be about building, not one of those players look to have been a major improvement.
From the timing of it I can only assume that the latest targets were very underwhelming or not in line with the thinking of others at the club.
There was an article last week saying that the Plymouth keeper is a target. That after Fisher being the main January signing.
We need a proven replacement in fast though. Otherwise the summer transfers will also be a mess | | | |

Nothing on the website. If it was a planned event the wording and announcement would already be out there. There has been a heated debate and flying tea cups in my view. The stripy blue shirt is not yet back from the dry cleaners!!
Burns is an issue . Look at his "get me out of here" body language collecting his Swansea shirt from Curt. For you and me it would be a massive honour. Martin is at the wheel.
