This situation is completely bizarre...another young talent wasted by Martin to add to;
Kyle Joseph and Morgan Whittaker & Jordan Garrick.
Russell, if you're reading, it is your job to develop talent.
If they are green, a bit raw, coach them and improve them.
Kyle Joseph in particular must be fuming, the boy clearly has talent.
Many times last season I was calling for him to get on for half an hour...either a run up front or as a right-wing back.
He was given sod all opportunity, seldomly brought on and even then it was in injury time, used to waste time.

We've seen enough of Cullen to know that he needs a fresh start somewhere else. He's older than both Piroe and Obafemi and nowhere near as good as either. Garrick also has never shown anything like enough quality to suggest he's worth persisting with at this level. He's quick, but that's about it.

Garrick is improving season on season and has come through the ranks. He is tall athletic strong fast. At Plymouth he was a regular playing 50 times often off the bench and recorded 7 goals and 8 assists in a breakout season. His physicality and discipline have improved. He scored a headed goal. Given his trajectory it could be expected to improve on this and then he is in the Marcus Harness territory who is 3 years older. His performances were better than Joseph's at Cheltenham and he of course is older.
He is also versatile which Martin likes. He has played at wingback and although struggled at times could with hard worth solve the right wing back problem.
I am pleased Martin has had a good chance to look at him in pre season. If he is developed as wingback send him to Newport to perfect his skills. None of Cullen Whittaker Garrick Benda will generate any cash. The club maty as well continue developing them. |  |
