Personally I like where he is playing for Plymouth, in a role behind the number 9. Cooper and Whittaker playing behind Obafemi or Piroe is a good option for us, if we lose one of our recognised forwards. Saying that, he may have the same role at Ipswich. |  | | |

Point is though he may have wallowed on the bench or in the reserves, where he has had a chance to develop and get himself known.
Would be great if he came back and started banging goals in for us.
However from his point of view, if he ends up playing regularly in the Championship with Plymouth or Ipswich then good for him.

I would imagine we are still paying all or s large part of his wage so if there is no desire for him to come back to Swansea just releasing him to move on is a financial gain.

Well,with respect,you need to look at it another way
Whittaker was written off early days ,as was Fulton.
He went out to “ develop” him. Why would we develop him for another club.
We need strikers . He has bulked up and is much stronger . He can score, as he has proven.
Frankly, right now, we could sell Piroe and keep Whittaker as he could be a better player .
We could loan out Piroe to develop him ,for us or someone else
What comes out of our club is often not quite the truth | |

Nothing to do with Martin this one, in respect of we were developing players to sell on before he came and we will carry on developing to sell long after RM has gone.
Even Bony, Curtis, Dan James, Ben Davies, etc, etc , were sold when the price and time seemed right.
We will always be a selling club if the price is right.
As long as the money is reinvested to improve the side, that is all we can ask.

He is now a step up on his form last year. Some players kick on, Whittaker, and some fade. This looks like Garrick and Cullen sadly. Both have been give a platform and not delivered.
Swansea have a 25 man squad. Not all can get regular game time. Neither Piroe nor Obafemi seem particularly keen to sign new deals so at the end of the season Swansea will be looking to move them on. Both can be replaced by Whittaker and Joseph off the back of strong league 1 seasons without sending any new money. Cullen and Garrick will be given best wishes unless they can be converted to new positions. Garrick should be n athletic wngback perhaps. Josh Thomas might figure in the mix to replace Cullen. A new striker might be bought Ogbene perhaps on a free. |  |

So he's rated as one of the best players in the Championship, yet he's playing in League One after playing very little in the Championship and you reckon I'm missing something
