Isn’t that what every single generation says ? (Can’t beat Dire Straits, Beatles, Oasis, Guns n Roses, )
There's an advert with a backing tune called Ordinary World, think Duran Duran sung it originally, I heard Adam Lambert sing it the other day, listened to him singing it on Youtube bit earlier, that lad can sing, loved it,
Here he is on the James Corden Show, can't stand Corden but this was good in fairness.

He'll never replace Freddy, but he's a fantastic replacement

is for a good cause but not sure these sales or the cut to trussell generates a great deal. not much love for this pair anymore.
It's very unfortunate that these two grifters are profiting off Xmas charity. Use very minimal amount of profit after consultancy fees to their own company etc etc are taken, then plug merch (none of the profits from that go to charity). They've amassed a fortune conning people who think they are doing good.

Good for them if they are raising money for charity, but it's a terrible version of the song

Isn't that the modern way, people sell their work as good deeds but they make more than goes to charity?
Look at Omaze, they do the house lottery thing, this time it's a 2.5 million house and the advert says a minimu of 100k goes to charity (dogs trust in this case) but how much do Omaze actually take in this? I don't know but I'd reckon it's a fair bit more than 100k!

It more amazes me how many people fall for their spiel. Well they are doing it all for charity, well yes 1p in every £1. Might have to start selling some of my own tat under the premise of charity.

nd these charities all seem to have a CEO on over 250k per year too. Charity has become a scam.
Charity should begin at home and not left to be run byl ittle more than corporate goons.

Talking of charity, why do the adverts always ask for strange amounts? There was one on the telly the other day asking for a donation of seventeen pounds and sixty pence.

Haven't noticed the odd amounts, what I do find strange though, the charity adverts I have seen recently seem to be asking for a set fee of 20 pound plus, surely that's alienating some of their potential contributors. Whatever happened to give what you wish, any donation is gratefully received.

Can't disagree with that.
I know we're getting old and it's young people's stuff. But I have to say most of it, to me, is mindnumbing repetitive drivel.
The main drive appears to be for the performer to say 'look at me, aren't I gorgeous'. The music comes second to the pout and the pose.
I’m shortly 73 . In my time,I’ve been lucky to experience the creation of the best contemporary popular songs . Without doubt, the musicianship and quality between 1955 and 1990 has been pre eminent. It’s why that era s songs are still thatvwhich are listened to and played now. Much of what is rerfered to these days as music as it doesn’t include melody ,essential to music, the very core of what it is .
Our lot grew up with Beatles Stones Animals Kinks Beach boys Elvis ELP Eagles Dylan Neil Young
Then Chuck in Cash,Jerry Lee,Do Diddley, Buddy Holly , and it makes powerful reading .
