I dread to think what we would have done without the owners, Jake specifically.
Again, no other owners have put £16m of their money into the club and wrote it off before. Even taking into historical inflation comparisons.
They have got us an extremely strong squad and got us into a sustainable place financially. If they were Welsh people would be lauding them, because they are American people automatically dislike them. |  |

They didn’t say they wanted to put the club into administration.
They were addressing the fact they had to put money in to keep our overheads at bay. People think whatever the club brings in, then that’s what they have to spend. It’s extremely expensive to run a football club, tens of millions.
They are currently footing the bill for the shortfall.

Well then you are wrong.
£16m today was the equivalent of £3.26m in 1980.
£800k the stand was.
Bringing in Tosh and Co was certainly nowhere near £2.46m of extra revenue outside of club generated money.
The average division 1 salary back then was £21,000 a year. A squad of 25 players is only £525,000 and it’s fair to say that the salary bill would have been significantly under that as most would be under the average due to weighting. So let’s say £460k for neatness.
Still doesn’t make a dent in the £2m left over needing to be spent of his own money to match what the Americans have done.
