| Cyrus Christie on Swansea on 12:39 - Mar 18 with 1852 views | max936 | Its telling on what he says about Martin to, despite the accusations by some that he fell out upset quarrelled with "loads" of players, it was laughable then and moreso now. Managers and players have disagreements all the time, its the nature of the business, nothing more nothing less. | |

| Cyrus Christie on Swansea on 13:23 - Mar 18 with 1787 views | swancity | This is not the Swansea City we knew. These are not the right owners for our Club. They’ve taken us to the next level alright. Meanwhile the bright sparks are having a go at our manager. It’s not quite the Titanic but we can’t drift aimlessly like this indefinitely. Our players and manager need and deserve support right now. Compare and contrast our Club with say Wrexham. Owners with clear direction, ambition and a hands on approach with a connection to the supporters. | |

Quite right Keith. His wage demands were far too high.

It’s quite simple he was told he wouldn’t get those wages at 29 years of age. It’s a half truth he speaks 🤔

However, 5 figures a week for an ageing right back is probably too much regardless. Especially when we have a manager with a penchant for wasting millions elsewhere.

After Sorinola signing it makes Christie look like Cafu.

I wouldn't call 29 ageing, not in todays game. There are a lot of players over 30 still tearing it up and Christie would have been much better than Sorrynola, as we see every time Sorinola plays.

Exactly he is on a ridiculously good wage at Hull, wouldve been up there as our top earner. It makes sense that he would say it was just down to his age rather than a pretty exorbitant wage demand. Board did the right thing in my opinion.

And look where we are. Sometimes you have to look at the total cost, including transfer fees ect.

Big wage, signing on fee, 3 year deal minumum (could he do 3 good years), zero resale value. To me it's just not a sensible transfer.

He signed a 2 year deal at Hull not 3. As for his signing on fee, I believed it was nothing hence his high wages. As I said you need to look at the total cost.

I do not know why people ever believe what footballer tell them. "Match what Hull are offering I and I will come". No chance. Its bout recruitment and Martins s recruitment has been very poor.

29 about to turn 30 (is now 30) is absolutely “ageing” for a full back. I can’t think of too many 30+ year old full backs tearing it up at any level. It’s a young man’s positions which focuses on pace and power, something that declines at a massive rate when in your 30’s. Stuart Dallas for Leeds is the only one that springs to mind, but they aren’t anywhere near the same class.

Keith you can't be naive enough to think that the clubs owners speak the truth and nothing but the truth, I know you don't really believe that, but these owners dear me next level my hairy arse. When Christie was on his A game he was great, but he was on his A game very infrequently in my opinion. [Post edited 18 Mar 2023 18:53]
