| Same old, same old with these owners 21:33 - Jun 15 with 5711 views | sw02sea | Well, would you believe it, hopes are to be dashed by our owners. Personally, I thought CD was a perfect fit for us according to reports on here, ie. “We are aiming high” and he was young and hungry to step up to be a manager. So was he the “Aiming high” candidate ? Or maybe s there a plan B? | | | | |

Maybe he'd rather follow than lead , the world is full of them .Graham Jones a prime example for quite a while

Exactly some try to find blame where there is none.

Better off without these types, if the Swans pedigree with managers wasn’t his thing best he made the softer decision, and we are best without him.

And look how it worked out for him when he decided to step up to be a No1 Its amazing ho the owners who whilst are not without fault get the blame for everything

| Same old, same old with these owners on 20:45 - Jun 16 with 2990 views | sw02sea | I'll tell you why I blame the owners. How long does it take for 2 clubs to agree that a manager is changing clubs? Have you honestly seen it take nearly a month before? You can say, yeah Southampton are trying to screw us out of compo, ‘cause they were in The Prem when they approached RM, and his contract had 2 scenarios for compensation. But imagine you were Chris Davies, and you were thinking of taking your first giant leap into management? You are witnessing your prospective employers haggling over what, say a £500,000 difference ? So meantime both clubs are in limbo as per incoming outgoing transfers. No wonder he had second thoughts. So then you have prospective future managerial candidates thinking, wtf is going on here? You will be hard pressed to see a bigger shitshow, of how to run a football club than our owners. My only hope is Nigel Morris’s involvement, overseas some sort of change going forwards. Please Tell me Keith, are the owners still aiming high? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Great posting. It should be some,e but we make it hard. Martin appears not to want to coach us preferring Soton. Now, that makes his position untenable. Therefore ,either ensure that he goes or he stays with us . If he doesn’t want to stay then he can walk the plan l. Compensation should be thalassotherapy thing we should be worried about seeing the now obvious revelation the process was nothing more than self promotion. He should have been sacked six months ago. Our owners are beyond comprehension. Just when you think they could get more inept All in all, again, we are shambolic

It's quite obviously more than haggling over half a million. Take into account Martins backroom staff plus he wants to take players, and Saints want it done on the cheap. More power to the owners for not rolling over. Did we offer the job to Davies?

How do you know Saints want it done on the cheap? As the title of the thread says, “Same old same old with these owners” They know the price of everything, but the value of nothing.

Bottom line is Martin s position is untenable and every day he stays is a day of more damage . Owners I’m afraid should man up and get rid now

The difference between getting the compensation and paying up the contracts is over £2M, do you really think we should just write off that sort of money.

Yep. We disagree I am concerned about the long term effect of this We really should not go into yet another season in a state of flux. Do you not agree? Should we be scaramblingbaround every season ,it seems, for a coach and players and get them ready for a new campaign.

I would imagine it will be sorted out by the time our player report back a week today.

Because they tapped Martin up before the season ended, and then baulked at the compensation. Same now happening with backroom staff and players. If they are that desperate for him pay the compensation

He’s turned out to be a bit of a t wat hasn’t he. Looking forward to seeing if he has as many fan boys at Southampton as he has here when they get bored with him.

Plus the coaching team and any players. The £2m is the difference between the compensation for RM and the coaching staff or paying them off, keep up. [Post edited 16 Jun 2023 22:45]

Not really, look back at previous dealings' over their tenure and that speaks volumes, I'm sick to my back teeth of reading posts sticking up for these owners, they have little interest in the club actually moving forward, they're keeping the club financially healthy which is fine, but we keep getting sound bites about them saying that they have ambition to get us back to the premiership, its just soundbites, they aren't interested. Why do you think Potter, Cooper and now Martin have left, people need to open their eyes. I'm happy being a midtable Championship club, its about our dap, lets not pretend otherwise.

People need to stop pretending that Potter, Cooper and Martin have left or are leaving for any reason other than their own interests. Roberto Martinez's useful idiots excused him for leaving by pretending that he'd have stayed if only the club had spent £1.5m on Gomez. It was obvious cobblers then and the same argument is obvious cobblers now. Nobody takes the job here without being well aware from the off what the situation is. It's particularly crazy that there are people out there trying to claim that Martin hasn't been backed despite us transferring £2m to MK Dons for players he specifically demanded and sticking with him despite a run of form that would have seen him sacked anywhere else.
