| Spanish federation sacks World Cup-winning coach on 16:27 - Sep 5 with 3292 views | ReslovenSwan1 | The La 15 made this rather strange statement. (From the BBC) Vilda, who had been in charge of the national team since 2015, survived a player 'revolt' in September 2022, when the RFEF released a statement revealing 15 players had submitted identical emails saying they would not play for Vilda unless "significant" concerns over their "emotional state" and "health" were addressed. What did this mean? "significant" concerns over their "emotional state" and "health". Was it bullying ? Was it racism? Was it homophobic ? was it gender related? Molestation? even equal pay matters? What is strange about it? Did you want them to be more specific? I'd have thought 81 players refusing the call and their coaches refusing to work would be a sign of something bad having happened. | | | |

What bad happened? A man has been sacked after winning the World cup. Why? Yes, before I put the boot in on the fellow I want to see reasons. I do not simply jump on the bandwagon making the assumption that he must have done something seriously wrong. He may have simply been too demanding with team discipline taken from the man's game. One poster on this thread has put the Greenwood news on this thread linking the two issues. Are they related?. I see no evidence of any relation. Greenwood was accused of some pretty serious crimes. I see a male coach has pushed a group of women to winning the world cup. I do not expect them to thank him necessarily. They have now appointed a woman. A wise decision. Whether standards can be maintained remains to be seen.

15 players signed the email….3 retracted and made the World Cup Winning squad. 12 were left at home in Spain. I would have thought the Spanish FA will give the reasons for the sacking of the head coach before the upcoming court case for unfair dismissal….unless of course there is a significant payment forthcoming from them to the coach….accompanied of course by a NDA.

"The complaint means the 46-year-old could face criminal charges. On 29 August, Spanish prosecutors opened a preliminary investigation into whether the incident amounts to a crime of sexual assault. At the time, Spain's top criminal court said it was opening its investigation in light of the "unequivocal nature" of 33-year-old Hermoso's statements, saying it was necessary "to determine their legal significance". Jordan Henderson will not be kissing the club chairman's wife in saudi Arabia for sure without a written permission. Spain was under control of Muslims for several hundred years.

These instances will keep on happening because of the forced conflation of the mens and womens football. They should be kept separate as they are different cultures. Women want to be associated with the men's game to use it to raise their own profile. Fans of the main club transfer over to the Ladies game wearing the same badge. Swansea city does not need a Ladies team. Long Euro trips to Moldova do not come cheap. (£50,000?) What was light banter to Mark Samson and Lee Kendall England Women team coaches was serious ethnic slurs to a minority of the squad with 'activist' tendencies (reported after they had been dropped). Samson was defended by the vast majority of his players. He was subjected to a Kangaroo court in the House of commons. It was blatantly unfair. No on in the FA defended him other than Dan Ashworth. (father of a Wales u21 player today). The FA after their criticism dug up old disciplinary data and used this to sack Samson. He failed to organise a cake for Lianne Sanderson for her 50th cap. (unforgivable in her eyes). She claimed on Talksport the Ivan Toney should cut some slack for his 235 betting offences. Millwall ladies realised that this was not a good partnership and went off on their own.

While you follow the valley trait of trying to suppress women and women's sport, you will not be successful because the civilised world has moved on. The subject is the sacking of the Spanish coach and the issues that the Spanish team had to accept up until now. This is now in the spotlight and if found guilty the people charged will face the appropriate punishment. Whether you think women have the right to compete on an equal footing has no bearing on this case or the charges.

I have explained the recent difficulties in Spain and with Samson and the FA were the result of a clash of cultures. If male football merges female football and people think it can carry on as normal they are deluded. It is not an issue of individuals or Spanish psyche. There will be demands for equality of pay conditions physio treatments pension insurances etc. The rights of 'Trans' players is another issue. Who will be Swansea city's first Trans player? Not something I will be following closely. The women's teams will cost perhaps £500k a year. The Trust are liable for £55,000 as their 11% share. Teams without a womens team will be at an advantage. This is why women's teams should be stand alone clubs. It is better for everyone. Jailing someone for four years who kissed someone in World cup winning celebrations is something the Taliban would do.

Not a clash of cultures, just wrong and illegal, possibly way above your thought process. As for the Swansea City Ladies Team, stop continually trying to bring the trust into subjects, you are as boring as **** on that subject. Possibly you should read this club statement on the Ladies team particularly the comments of the club chairman. Broaden your mind and embrace the opportunities open in Ladies sport, you may even enjoy it. https://www.swanseacity.com/news/swansea-city-women-become-semi-professional

I ask about the Trust's plans investment strategy objectives and get nothing back from members who I assume are unable to think coherent thoughts. £5 and then say "I do my bit". The only people they have helped significantly over the last 18 years are the London legal ruling elite (not necessarily English) . £400k or 80,000 subscriptions. (They do sponsor some underage football tournaments). That money will help with little Johnny expensive school fees for sure. The subscriptions needed to get the money back would be monies paid in until 2103. The member are mind crushingly boring as only Chief would front up all be it talking nonsense. I am in favour of the Women taking over their own game and run by women not Mr Coleman who now wants to improve the women's game in Swansea but Wales as a whole. That is the job of the FAW. How much will it cost?. It would be £50k just to travel to the Euro games. £400,000 minimum. Trust contribution £0. The Yankees are paying for it because Taffy has no cahones. "nothing to do with us. We support it 100% but are not paying a dime. Those bloody Yanks will have to fund it." We have become a nation of freeloaders. At least we know it. "we know what we are" we sing. Dancing to the tune of English far right slurs. Pathetic. [Post edited 9 Sep 2023 15:42]

I do not accept you speak for anyone but yourself and Max. I refuse to pay £5 to sponsor the group that has caused so much trouble for the club. I think they should be wound up unless they can demonstrate they have changed their ways and actually contribute positively to the club and fans. Exeter city ST invests £75,000 directly in to the club for no return.

No one claims to speak for anybody but themselves...well there's Kilky and Trampie who seem to think they speak for all "true" Welsh people ( their definition of that of course) and you seem to think your opinion is more valuable than others. Is that why you always call so many people dim? The trust has, over the years, done mamy things to benefit us fans. That's not to say they haven't been useless more recently or that they haven't made mistakes but then, so have many people involved with the club. Taking your point of view, maybe you shouldn't follow the Swans at all seeing as owners and managers have made so many errors and harmed our club. Like When HJ brought back Bony which cost SCFC many millions for absolutely no return. How damaging was that. Who was responsible for turning down Allen but then spending even more on Clucas...that was Pythonesque in its stupidity and incredibly self harming.

When 5000 men who have been through 15 years of schooling are singing. "We know what we are, we know what we are we are Welsh Sh==pshaggers off to Qatar" people like me have to stand up and ask what the hell are you doing? You will have not heard this before because people are herd beings and effectively cowards. The chant and its variants are actually illegal and in the same pseudo obscene genre as monkey chants. I am a proud Welsh person from a Welsh speaking heritage and i find it offensive. The same people who label me odd want to put a man who kissed a women in a jubilant post world cup celebrations in court facing a 4 year prison sentence. It is the madness of the majority. BLM was the last fiasco. "We" all notionally supported commune living and defunding of the south Wales constabulary because some US activists said so. Mr Birch had the whole Swansea city squad posing behind the BLM logo for free.
