Would love to beat Shelbyville, but I think it's going to be a slow, turgid game.

If we can get a draw that would be a fantastic return from 3 games.

Come on Rangers!

I'd be surprised if we don't go for a fast start.

South Africa Rd, Stanley Bowles and Lower Loft all pretty much sold out for this one.

Let's have a goal at our end tonight, shall we?
[Post edited 7 Oct 2022 9:06]

amazingly only 1% availabilty in A B & C blocks. Same FG.

STU blocks the same.

Safe standing sold out.

Upper loft around 30% left

We charging Fakes fans how much?

Thinking some of our guys pretty tired but we have the like of Tim, Stef, Amos, Albert, Dykes, Bonne, Ossie, JCS, Dickie all players who have not played in all 3 games.

Reading have a smaller and much older squad who will have played in both previous games. Hoilett I think is being deployed as a wing back.

John Swift must be thinking if he made the right move(playing success wise)

Think we might just nick it 2-1

captains fantastic
Poll: QPR V BURNLEY WIN DRAW DEFEAT

Flashscore preview.

Queens Park Rangers were dominated for large periods of their midweek clash at league leaders Sheffield United, yet they still managed to come away with a 1-0 win, extending their unbeaten league run to four matches (W3, D1). Manager Michael Beale said it took “a lot of blood, guts and hard yards” to get that result, and he’ll be looking for more of the same against another promotion rival here in the shape of Reading.
The hosts start the round a point below their third-placed opponents, so a victory could be huge for their aspirations of top-flight football. QPR might look to draw confidence from the 4-0 home success against the Royals back in January, which was a victory that ended a run of three H2Hs at Loftus Road without a win. They scored three goals before half-time in that win, and a similarly fast start could be on the cards here given all seven of their home goals this season have arrived before the break.
Reading look a much different outfit to the one that narrowly escaped relegation in the last campaign however, and a hard-earned point at home to second-placed Norwich in midweek extended their own unbeaten run to three league matches (W2, D1). The 1-1 scoreline in that game means Reading have restricted their opponents to a goal or less in seven of their last nine league matches so QPR may have a tough task on their hands.
A lot of the success Paul Ince’s side have enjoyed this season has been built on their home form which is the league's best, but on the road it’s been a different story and they’ve instead continued a lot of the struggles they endured last season. Prior to the recent 1-0 win away at Wigan, the Royals had gone on a run of five away losses from their last six league outings (W1) - with all defeats coming to nil!
Players to watch: Including his winning goal in midweek, Chris Willock’s last five QPR league goals have all arrived within the 15 minutes on either side of half-time. Meanwhile, Tom Ince scored Reading’s most recent winning goal on the road and is chasing a second career strike at Loftus Road here.
Hot stat: Only Rotherham have scored fewer league away goals than Reading (two) coming into the round.

Don`t think CW will play. Going 2-0...

Reckon we’ll go for a big three at the back to counter a more physical side who rely on set pieces to score. Dykes upfront, Roberts for Willock behind.
Sam will be a good candidate for the cheese on toast, he’s overdue and the ref has averaged 3+ cards per game. If we get a goal from midfield it will be Amos.*

*my dismal showing in the prediction league to date means this all comes with a health warning

9-0 to us to go top of the league for at least 24 hours

Almost all the signals point to us not winning this one. Win ratio without Willock, Trying to win a third in a row, live on Sky on a Friday night

But something is happening so i am going with the form and course and distance suggest a Haarlandesque performance from Lyndon tonight and a Loft end double to boot 2-0

If the OP QPR_1968 says it's 2-1 to us - who are we to disagree?
That 1-0 prediction at Sheffield United was impressive.
Personally I'd like to see us get another clean sheet.
That would be 4 out of the last 5.
So 2-0 to us and go third in the table.

I'm thinking a frustating 1-1

Heart says 3-1 Rangers

Head - the former

Really lonve for Lyndon to get his scoring boots on for this one.

With Lumley in goal....

Has nobody considered that QPR take a 1-0 lead early on in the game and it remains that way until the last couple of minutes of extra-time when Reading get a corner, Joe Lumley comes up to add pressure on the R's defence, gets his head to the cross and scores a last minute equalizer.

Anything is possible after all.

Down through the ages I've never liked Reading... The Club, The Players, The Kit, The Fans.

I'm up for this game more than Roscoe Tanner with his cocaine fulled 170mph wooden slazenger dirty aces while on the run From Child support agency Bail bondsmen from Texas.

A Ngandong tiger on heat charged up on Spanish Fly melted on a Sugar cube couldn't be more up for it. When i think Of Reading i think of that Lounge Lizard lothario Cad and fishcake fingerer John Madejski with his pete beal fruit and veg coconut matting hair and grubby Valentino suits.

If anyone remembers 'Rising Damp' the Movie , Madejski reminds me of the Denholm Elliott Character,' Charles Seymour', The Ex RAF Con man down on his luck with his frayed double cuffs pilfering Miss Jones's Post Office savings account.

Him and that other curly haired colostomy bag lank of piss ,Trevor Senior. Teeth like Pete Noone and a dead ringer for Pat Coombes. Fu ck them.

3-0 Rangers.

Obviously a loss would be a very QPR thing to happen but I like the team spirit atm and think we might nick this one, even without Willock who we will obviously miss.

Of more concern is if Dieng doesn't play as I think he frames the system.

I have only see Archer play twice (Cambridge A, last pre-season and the Rotherham cup game.) He did the same thing in both games; was ponderous on an early back pass an almost conceded a soft goal on both occasions. This does not fill me with confidence.

I shall welcome back Joe Lumley (but not the other fella) and surely the team etc. know what Joe's weakness are and we need to exploit them.

I would like Reading to get zero and Rangers to get at least one and I'm not fussy about which end it's at.

interestingly this fixture last season was the final game before our season imploded

It was end of January, we won 4-0 and looked amazingly .... must have been in the top 3 at that point. Everyone came away thinking we had a great chance of top 2 rather than having to settle for the playoffs.

The rest, alas is history...

I tend to push record on my Sky box before heading to a televised game.

AND WE LOSE NEVER TO WATCH AGAIN.

So I wont be doing that this evening to see if luck changes.

And a goal at the loft end would be nice.

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

Think its very likely to be Tim instead of Amos.

Will want to ease Amos back after his latest injury.

Agree on the 2-0 though, Dykes and Roberts

When was the last time we won three in a row?

I trust Beale to get this right. Dykes to be the hero, 2 headers. What a pleasure to have so many quality centre backs at our disposal. At the start of the season we didn’t see the need for so many centre backs and midfielders but I’m sure Beale would of looked at how congested the fixtures get and have planned accordingly for this. If only there was a chance to get cover for fullbacks!

I read Dieng has said he wants to play. Don’t know if that means not taking goal kicks but encouraging news.

Don’t forget this will also be Readings third game in a week and not sure how much squad depth they have.

Let’s bring the atmosphere and turn these fake hoops over.

Your 4ht paragraph is almost exactly what Ince says on their offy.

Both he and Hendrick say they are aiming get "something out of the game"

Lets be honest, neither team is going to be upset with a draw, even MB said he would be "Content, but not happy" with a point.

Or he could put Orangeboom in where Amos is (in CW's schematic), Amos where Roberts is and leave Roberts up front.

Must admit that's partly coloured by the memory of Lyndon's latest back-pass-shot on Tuesday night - hopefully he'll come in tonight and shut me up.
