It's a great gig though for him....talk his way into job after job, get paid up for failing and onto the next one. Must have millions in the old post office savings account now....and that's every nice for someone like him that has not moral compass. Possibly karma will bite him properly at some point i guess.

There is literally no other industry that rewards failure so lavishly and then keeps on repeating it.

I mean... there are coaches you can aim that at, but he was with us for 4 months, and we were top of the league with a squad that has lost every week since. He wasn't a success at Rangers, but in Scotland, you're a winner if you win it all, a failure if you don't. He's unproven for me, and Sunderland will be a real challenge.

Bare bones.

The wheels were coming off though Anti..can't remember the exact stats before he left post Wolves tw@ttishness, but 1 win in 6 seems to ring a bell. He was unravelling big time. He clearly interviews well though.

it was a poor run of no wins in 5, but included a monstering of Hudd that should have been about 7-2 to us, and a very decent 0-0 draw at Norwich. Couple of poor performances in there, but the 'wheels coming off' narrative has sprouted legs and rollerkates on the back of an incredibly small sample size. It may well be right, but that's why I say 'unproven' rather than 'failure'.
People probably said similar about Brendan Rodgers after his early time at Reading, but whatever you think about him, he's had a very decent career (until last season!)

Bare bones.

Sacked in the morning....

Its fair to say things are not going well in Sunderland and the fans there have not taken to him!

His interview was basically word for word the same interview he gave after we lost to Huddersfield at home last season.

If he lasts until March 16th he might have both sets of fans booing him at the start of the match.

I’m sure he’ll sort it out. He’s still got about ten days of the transfer window left to bring in Leon Balogun.

Must say that I think leaving us was such a mistake for him.

The thing is QPR were actually a very good fit for him. Pleased he went though and I'm so happy to have Marti

I was thinking the same. QPR is the perfect first job really. No massive expectations and if you win a few games you are held in huge esteem (like he was here initially). Rangers and Sunderland have fanbases with ideas above their stations and are likely to turn if you're not winning all the time.

I’m not sure that’s actually the case - clearly he had built a castle on sand here. The wheels were already off before he left and then the axle ended up falling off too.

Had he stuck around, a few of the wasters like Laird, JCS, Balogun & Roberts might’ve made themselves available more but we still would’ve found ourselves down the bottom end come May as the squad really was never that good, was horribly unbalanced and did it’s luck to superhuman levels before he left.

For me, he had to leave when he did or his career would’ve been DOA after 1 season, as it is he hasn’t ended up any better off as the whole football world now knows he’s a thundercnt and any prospective club’s fans will never take to him. Ultimately he was never as clever as he thought he was, nor the manager he thought he was.

Always remember one wise poster on here saying in a phonecall VERY early on in Beale's reign - "I've an awful funny feeling this lad's a bullshitter".

Brian, if he gives you permission you'll have to name him as deserves his name in lights + the sort of bloke we need in our Recruitment Department to spot an incoming waster, if he's a Kerryman, you might have to swallow your pride for the greater good.

Yes that's a good point. It's hard to say isn't it? he had. horrible run before he went. I remember the coventry game also resembling the end of the Warburton era and looking a lot like how the last 14 months have been.

Perhaps though (from his perspective not ours), staying at QPR would have been an ideal first job. The problem is he's been a manager for what 18-20 months and this is his third club. Sunderland is not an easy as they all believe they should be in the premier league. From his point of view he may have had more time at Rangers to develop players and learn a s manager.

Hard to say, but the guy obviously has a ginormous ego and atm he is looking pretty lost.
I think the manner in which he left us has probably lost him a hell of a lot of respect in the game.

Don’t think it was me but I do remember asking Clive what his thoughts were as a character after the online interview he did. What alarmed me at the time, and it seemed petty was a post on Twitter where he was out drinking with mates in Borough Market on a Saturday evening. Swigging beer outside the Wheatsheaf I think. There was just something about his mannerisms that didn’t strike me as a person who can manage people, let alone highly strung footballers. Came across as a chancer and a wideboy.

Poll: Where will Clive put QPR in his new season preview

Was having a look at the Sunderland board, and a few comments being raised about Bellingham.
Fans saying he looks well off the pace, desperately needs a rest etc.
Surely the snake won't do to Bellingham what he did to Willock etc to get himself out a hole.
