The Bear is a bit like Dawsons Creek for me, sorry.
Its really well acted and that, but its not a comedy (which is where it was plopped so it could win awards).
It just doesn't have real jeopardy and the set pieces are nonsensical.
Struggling to put up a plasterboard wall, putting sugar in instead of salt, an adult unable to tell a woman he likes her, its all a bit meh.

I think previously I have mentioned 'For all Mankind' on Apple which has been hugely successful for them. They have a spin off 'Star City' which has Anna Maxwell Martin playing a starring role. She is exceptionally good in this new series and well worth a watch if you are like me a fan of hers. |  | | |

First two seasons of NYPD Blue are sublime, without this programme there would be no Wire or True Detective.
I'd have loved to see those creators work without the restraints of Network Television they had at the time.
They had a little run with "Luck" which was the Dustin Hoffman vehicle a few years back. That was good TV, but I think production costs and animal welfare concerns got it shut down. | | | |
