I went up there years ago in my teens. A few of us, who were travelling buckshee, got off at a small unmanned station before Blackburn central. The directions we were given were - walk a few miles and when you've gone past tripe factory turn left. I was like: "You're pulling my leg there's a factory whose sole purpose is to make tripe! Is this the fcuking Goodies or what!?"

For those travelling up, The Golden Cup is a decent hostelry and only a short walk to the ground. It is also spitting distance from the M65 so you can get on your way quickly after the game should you choose. IIRC there is a lot of street parking nearby too.

This thread has reminded me of a song which used to grate on me. What is this all about? Three music & drama students from Hampstead Garden Suburb read a book about the north of England and decide to write a song about it ... for a module in the syllabus. For some unknown reason they chuck in a quasi-African chant in the chorus. I'd imagine this would appeal to Beatles fans from America. I still think this song is a load of tripe but have to admit it's quite catchy.
Getting the post-midday excitement now. Be more than happy with a point. Anything else would be a bonus.
