Joey Barton confesses to Robbie Fowler's podcast that we were his least favourite club, signed for Financial reasons and reckoned 80% of fans disliked him.

This is what he said;

“So QPR was tough, the fans didn’t particularly like me and I’ve still got 80% of the fanbase who don’t like me because I earned a lot of money even though I turned it around in the end and captained them to promotion."

Just goes to show what a liar/self deluded person he is.

Prrrrrrrrriiiiiiiicccccccccccckkkkkkkkkk!!

I wonder how Clint Hill feels about that statement.

Horrible person but a good, if not very good, centre mid player. Great touch, ball retention and high work rate and tackling. Really good short passing and a eye for a ball in behind.

Just because he wasn't liked people also dismiss him as footballer. He dragged us to promotion under Harry.

Great first touch and ball retention??! He was pony

Classic narcissist and probably a sociopath too. Everything is about him.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Barton you cn*t we booed you off in the Liverpool game because it was yet another shit performance. After you were yanked, Derry Cisse and Mackie won the fuc**n game.

Then we went to the C&S, watched the whole thing all over again. And booed you off again.

Nothing to do with the money. It was shit performances and utter arrogance that pissed us right off.

the 20% per cent are the tag along fans currently putting there brentford toney shirts on and googling random brentford facts is my guess

Barton achieved three promotions to the premier league

Newcastle and QPR had two really strong sides that should and gone up anyway

and his two other awards was participating in UEFA cup and Europa cup 😂😂😂

vastly overpaid and his own opinion of himself is even worse

No he wasn't - people are just blinkered because everyone hated him and the crowd were always ready to launch a collective groan whenever he played badly.

Burnley player of the year, an England cap - also highly rated at Newcastle and Man City.

He was a top player at Championship and an ever present in the promotion season team.

For the record, I do think he is a total d**k.

Probably got paid over £16m whilst representing the club I love.
Joey Barton has very few characteristics I want in someone representing the team I have loved for over 50 years.

He was OK, he wasn’t as good as he thought he was. Maybe for Man City, Newcastle and Burnley but not for us. I just don’t think he played at the level he could have. I don’t think his heart was ever in it for us in the same way it was/is for Austin. Barton admitted he came for the money, we just weren’t a big enough club for him and he was going thrthe motions.

I remember around the time he was claiming he should be in the England squad. He had a pass completion rate of around 65-70% when players who would be getting into the national side were doing 85%+.

His free kicks were atrocious but kept on taking them and he kept getting himself drawn into situations like that with Brad Johnson because players like Brad knew he could be goaded. He was a liability at times.

I don’t think he’ll ever be one of those players people will look back on and say “actually, he wasn’t that bad you know”.

I'm not sure it was 80% - It may have been higher but he did put in some good shifts.
