New version for new season as Sheff Wed enter transfer embargo...

Old thread here...

Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc?

For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te?

Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull.

Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

A 6-0 win tomorrow night takes us back into 6th place if other results go our way.

All 3 relegated sides lost tonight.
Anybody predict a top 6 of Coventry Boro, Millwall, Bristol C, Charlton and Stoke?

After beating Bristol we were above Charlton and Bristol. Now two games later we trail the Robins by 4 points and Charlton by 3. When the league is so tight one loss and you suddenly drop to mid table.

Southampton, Norwich or Watford must be favourites to sack their manager before Leicester

Charlton won, but still no goal for Charlie

I’m not sure even Watford would sack their manager after 1 game.

Not strictly championship, but Rohl joins rangers after the muscat deal fell through...
What's the odds of Bannon joining them in January??

Massive stroke of luck for them with Gerrard and Muscat turning it down. They’ve ended up with a good manager after all that!

A Swansea mate of mine reckons they’ll do us over. I said I’ve got two words for you - Chair and Poku. 😎

I hope not. I admire the way he has stayed at Wednesday and he has sounded loyal and genuine when he has been on Talksport recently. Would be saddened if he does a Mick Beale.

Yeh I was a bit gutted about that. I've been enjoying the enduring comedy of "The Old Firm" being complete dog sht.

Pretty much zero. Bannon is as a massive and lifelong Celtic fan.

Yes, as a Celtic fan this is quite annoying. They've almost appointed the best option by mistake. Was hoping Gerrard would return as they have him on a completely undeserved pedestal up there.

Charlton are fairly random. Didn't think they looked all that at LR (although arguably our formation change caught them cold).

Millwall it seems are basically solid and well organised - which will tend to get you far in this league. Of course I hope it never happens, but them in the Prem would be hilarious.

Last night’s results emphasise what a car crash this division is. I don’t think anyone bar maybe Coventry is actually any good. Nice to see Norwich struggling.

Wilder quotes about RND being recalled at the bottom of the article. Basically it sounds like they couldn't recall RND until Jan anyway. If he carries on they way he has I suppose they might.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Seems you've missed this one, he left Wednesday at the start of the season, they are now being managed by his assistant Henrik Pedersen.

Edit - Woops didn't read the post you were replying to properly, yup you have to give credit to Bannan for sticking around.

Sounds like he kept the score respectable. I did not realise that Wednesday have only 1 point at home and only 1 goal scored at home both v us ..sad times for their fans a half empty stadium..a slow death..

Lumley also made a massive rick which somehow the referee didn’t give a penalty for. Incredible refereeing even by this league’s standards.

Sheff Utd. starting to find some form (2-0 up away at Preston) just in time for our visit in November. Bastards. That said I don't really fear anyone in this league with our current team and manager (except Cov obviously).

That first 10 minutes from Preston was the most QPR thing I've ever seen, start at 100mph, dominate, wave after wave of attack, 1-0 down.
