Kolli on 10:43 - Nov 6 by lassel

No point typing out again the whole background, but yes, Kolli is done at the club, there is *a lot* more gone on behind the scenes that really cannot be posted online and no, neither party is blameless..

Kolli Sr has been extremely naive posting online about goings on, albeit on private social media accounts that weird parasocial fans have ‘friended’ him on, but ultimately the way certain club leadership have acted towards them - and continue to act - has been disgraceful and stems, as so frequently right now at QPR, from bruised ego.

Saddest part is that Kolli wants to be here, is by all accounts a good kid and he is popular with the rest of the squad so, again as is routine now at QPR, it’s cutting off your nose to spite your face.

You do realise the "I know something you don't know" type of post is the exact reason there is so much hearsay around this topic?

IF you know what really want on tell us all, or do we need to wait for your autobiography to be cleared by legal...

Is it JS fault, given both he and the fella in question are peers who report to the same person??

Like you, I like it when JS shows some backbone and takes contron (see the week after Coventry), but, at the same time, he has to strike a balance unless he wants to get himself the sack. Surely accountability sits at the top?

This story has come from so many different sources there has to be truth to it. All I’ll say is the incident happened in that week after Coventry, before Charlton. And the phrase I was told was used in front of the squad was “well, it doesn’t matter anyway (the argument) because you won’t play anymore now Koki’s back.” One of the other players had to console Kolli after the other fella stormed off.

Even if Kolli was in the wrong, even his Dad’s social media activity is unhelpful, you should not be saying that to a young talent for so many reasons. He’s an asset. He has value. He has potential. You have squad morale to consider. There is simply no justification for saying it in public. It will just lead to even less respect from the rest of the squad for him…and that’s already pretty non-existent anyway from what I’ve heard.

Agree 100% on the line management point.

JS has no authority over Williams.

I don't have any sources inside the club so can't comment on whether or not these alleged events happened but if they did then it should be a disciplinary issue for Williams who as a senior manager with (as far as we know) no say on team selection should not be berating a junior player in front of fellow players and telling him he won't be playing any more.

What I do know is that the club has a safeguarding portal for reporting issues like this:

https://portal.speakoutsafe.uk/skjema/queens-park-rangers--1st-team/7o4PCSDObXWp

It might not make any difference to Kolli's selection chances but it does sound like Williams might need to be reined in as he would appear to have greatly exceeded his authority in this instance.

It is incredible if this is true. The cycling guy telling a young player that he has no future in front of the whole squad - and then being backed up by the CEO!

Kolli on 12:28 - Nov 6 with 2451 viewsGeoff78

If this is true I'm appalled. We've all worked in organisations where individuals don't get on/don't like each other or words are said. But people have to be professional and find ways of getting along or managing differences. There have been many football teams where some players disliked each other but they've found ways to play together. Football clubs aren't like other companies but this is just unacceptable.

QPR does have a policies page on its website:

https://www.qpr.co.uk/more/policies

Under the Equality section it names Christian Nourry as the EDI Board Champion:

"We understand that how we act at QPR has the power to influence others and feel privileged to be in such a position of responsibility to advocate for a more equitable world.

We invite our stakeholders, partners and supporters to make a similar commitment to a more equitable, diverse and inclusive future for all.

With thanks,

Christian Nourry
QPR CEO & EDI Board Champion"

Which means it is ultimately on him to ensure the club's policies and procedures are implemented across the club:

In reality Nick there are at least half a dozen posters on here who know exactly what has gone on and would happily air it out but haven’t as we have been asked not to put it on the messageboard and respect that request.

Which then creates a sticky scenario because your point about saying nothing if you can’t say everything is probably fair, but at the same time you have people saying ‘well he should just work harder and he’d be playing’ at which point - in my opinion only - it becomes important to state that whilst you can’t go deep into details, he isn’t being left out for performance/ability reasons, at a time when we have lost 3 in a row…

There are two reasons why Kolli was not involved last night......

1 - He is not deemed good enough
2 - There are issues outside of the football arena

Choose whatever one you want but maybe it is both of them.....

James Grant (Loft flags) spoke with him before the game and part of the conversation was "So, what's going on with you?" Rayans response was "I'm fit, I'm training hard, I'm ready to play". There is nothing wrong with either his commitment, attitude or personality so one can only assume he is being unfairly punished for things outside his control. I have also spoken to him on three occasions previously and all he wants to do is play in the first team and do well, he is proud of being a QPR player and I fear nonsense such as that posted on this thread and other social media will mean we never get to see him in his prime. I started watching him when he was just fifteen playing in the U16's and was soon in the U18's because he is a very technically gifted footballer with a good football brain. Scapegoating him feels very, very wrong to me.

The grass is always greener.

It's strange, as I do agree with some of the decisions made by the new CEO.

I like that we are not keeping U21 players on the books once they get past 21 if they have no chance of being near the first team. It felt like before we were just willing the youth to be successful and keeping players around just in case. Which actually hurts their careers.

I also agree that we shouldn't be picking and playing younger footballers who are actively running their contracts down.

With the information being scare to most fans, we do not know that Kolli signed a new contract fairly recently, so we can only assume he's not left out for this reason.

If it was Ben Williams declaring that Kolli won't play again in the canteen, when he has no jurisdiction on team selection that's mental! You can forgive Kolli for airing a grievance in public. I've only ever worked in TV, so I'd compare Kolli to on-air talent.

So, in my experience the talent would be allowed to blow up in this way, but if senior management did, there would and should be serious repercussions

Agree with most of that, although it was announced he signed a new contract in January so we can rule that out.

Agree with you, that was kind of my point.

I just can't see how any club would bomb a player out because of his parent's behaviour. Or should. Or will.

They won’t if he’s deemed good enough and they may if he’s not that rated. Who ever got the push because of a gobby parent if they are a really decent player?

Excuse me, Brian - I’m agreeing with you here.

In that case the Head of Player Welfare should have intervened or at least followed it up when tempers had calmed to ensure that it was an isolated incident and it didn't happen again.

But if no one complained then it probably didn't go any further.

However the events as described do raise some concerns.

If the club wants to freeze a player out then I guess they are within their rights to do that, and it has certainly happened before, but that player still has the right to progress his career.

If the club aren't going to play Kolli (and break that news to him in front of all the other staff!) then they should be giving him the chance to leave at the earliest opportunity and should be helping him to do that.

If he isn't made available for loan or transfer in January and can't even get a game in the DS then he needs to get onto the PFA to get some answers from the club.

To be honest I found the way Williams (allegedly) conducted himself to be more worrying.

When Williams returned to the club it was in a new role but if you look at the blurb on the website his role is still rooted in sports science. It does not say anything about him being involved in team selection.

https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/2025/june/19/ben-williams/

If there's a medical reason why Kolli can't play then Williams is entitled to have a say.

Otherwise Williams should stay out of it.

Publicly humiliating a player in front of the staff and telling him he isn't good enough is not on.

He also undermines the manager who has the ultimate say on who does and doesn't play.
