| Kone 07:26 - Dec 8 with 4945 views | davman | Just when he starts to hit form, along comes AFCOM. Seen loads from the club on Smith's call up for SA, but I think Kone is off too, probably after the Leicester game. Will beca bit of a loss especially against our physical friends at Portsmouth... | |

| Kone on 13:38 - Dec 8 by Ned_Kennedys | If Kone goes to AFCON and Kolli remains unfit then we will need Frey to play and perform. How about we try be a bit more positive about him and support him? He’s nowhere near the worst forwards we have had and has shown he can score goals for us. |
I agree. Frey is clunky, and I legit think I might be faster than him. But he applies himself, and he can be effective in this league. Paired with Burrell in a two as well could get some of the best out of him.

Thanks Aston. I wonder if there's a cut-off date for replacements in the event of injuries.

They have named 2 additional replacements in that instance too which doesn't include him. One of whom is an Aston Villa striker. They also haven't named the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Emmanuel Latte-Lath and Simon Adingra, it's a competitive squad!

On the ball, Aston. Thank you!

| Kone on 15:08 - Dec 8 by Wilkinswatercarrier | Supporting him isn't going to make him any quicker, Again though we've got to wonder why he was given a new contract. Bizarre decision. |
Or why, once he gets the contract, he starts performing like an embarrassing grandpa. No correlation, I'm sure.

| Kone on 17:27 - Dec 8 by Northernr | TBF he scored 13 goals in 34 games because he took the penalties. Eight of the 13 goals he got were from the spot. |
To be fair, 8 scored pens out of 8 (if that's what it was) is impressive.

| Kone on 13:20 - Dec 8 by QPRSam | The squad list is confirmed tomorrow and then they will hold training camp from 10th-20th December according to below. If called up seemingly Saturday was the last time we'll see him for a couple months. He only played 28 minutes over 2 games in the last international break so he might be an outside look - we'll find out soon. https://onefootball.com/en/news/can-2025-ivory-coast-reveals-training-camp-locat I imagine we'd just go one up top with Burrell if this was the case. Otherwise would really hope Bennie would be given a shot, I think it's 7 goals in 8 DS games this season, thought he was good in pre-season also |
Well yeah he only just called up into the squad for the first time in the last round of internationals, and given he hasn't played a huge amount for us the last few weeks, not sure how definite his AFCON selection is. I mean nice if he does get to go, but I'd rather he stayed in W12 and bagged us a few more goals.

I would, if I'd seen them before I posted! Anyway good for us if Kone is staying home.

How many of the other 5 were free kicks? Deadball specialist. Next time, rip the ball from Dembele's hands.

| Kone on 07:54 - Dec 10 with 633 views | numptydumpty | Was disappointed yesterday as I thought for next four or five games, Kone would be absent. Great news he will be here. Done well last two games. Shame he could not put the chance he had in the second half, just needs one to go in again, I feel and could start kicking again. | |

He's looked absolutely miles off the player who killed Luton Town in the Summer of last year. Every time hes played this season, it takes me back to that handfull of games when we signed Brett Angell. [Post edited 11 Dec 13:38]
