Ive been running these threads for a few years on here or dot net. One year i did the calulation of correct rumours. It was 9%.

I can't keep up with this..
I thought the club needed to be sustainable and signing young unproven players, developing them before selling them was the only way it can do this, but now apparently the only way for the club to be sustainable is to get to the premier league.
I suppose it worked under Warnock, find a once in a generation talent capable of winning games on his own and shore him up with some tough experienced pro's. This stuff is easy! can't understand why every club doesn't do it. |
I’m not particularly good at maths which is why I do the job I do but my take on it is:-
The owners are apparently propping the club up to the tune of £20Mill a season/year
To stand still you’ve got to sell two Eze’s a year (that’s two generational talents you’ve got for nothing and sold for £10mill)
This is to stand still - you’re not paying down the huge debt Bungle ran up or making a profit.
In amongst the usual Sky hyperbole over the play off game I heard them say that game is now worth £210million for the next season. One year. Boom.
That’s 10 and a bit years worth of selling those two rare players that the clowns in charge have only found once in the last decade.
I know which plan I’d go for and it involves putting together a strong, solid and physical Championship squad with a smattering of left field maestros and pace.

Football League World ( I know) suggesting we should be after Denis Cirkin, who will be leaving Sunderland this Summer.

I'd be quite pleased - I think he is a bit underated and pretty good at Championship level.
The main concerns were fitness, and salary. IF we can work the salary, he still played a lot of games for us this season. If it happened, I wonder if they think he can play more next year - though if this season has tought us anything it's that we do need to rotate players more - fatigue = injuries. | |

I think if someone was rich/stupid enough to offer that we’d take it but I doubt it’ll be Southampton having signed Larin permanently, a couple of strikers coming back from loans (including Chilean Ben) and Archer still about on god knows what money.
I like Kone a lot because he fits us but even a promotion-expectant Champ side is too big a jump currently IMO. Hard to turn down a big wage jump even at the expense of starting regularly but can’t see it.
So after all that he’s probably going to Birmingham. Obikwu will be our saviour. | | | |
