In the continued and probably foreseeable absence of my lot at world cups . Thought it might be nice to have a thread for my Celtic cousins. Watched a glorified training match between the Sweaties and Bolivia on the Beeb yesterday. Thought that Gannon Doak was outstanding last night . Pace to burn . Pretty sure he tore us a new one whilst playing for Boro here a couple of years ago . Think they might reach the holy grail of the knockout stages. One or two may not agree with me but hope they can do it this time.

Very poor but got it over the line. Fair play though . Support was magnificent.
Ugly winner but they all count and topping the table for a few says makes nice viewing for all Scots. Lived a bit dangerously though without that second goal it was always a bit hairy but Hati while very fast ( used to the climate/conditions) wasted most chances .Scotland might still need a draw but its a great start fair play to them

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Morocco deserved to win that one but the Scots will be aggrieved with the penalty decision that went against them with the challenge on McGinn . Penalty for me . A low scoring defeat against Brazil will probably get them through.

I think the McGinn call was marginal. The McTominay one was correct.
Frustrating in that Scotland defended well for most of the game and might have nicked a point. They even got vaguely lively towards the end.
I feel sorry for any neutrals that tuned in, though :-)

I don't understand this bitterness from England fans.
Feels a bit small time.
Yeah, I know!
They've always been so supportive of England in the various tournaments we were at and they didn't qualify for. Always wishing us the best and stories of blokes going into work the morning after an England exit wearing say, Germany or Argentina shirts, are totally fake.
I always think Scotland are very good at giving it out, arguably the best. But when the shoe is on the other foot....hmm, maybe not so good!

I think that might be why Barry.
So what?
Don't wrestle with pigs.

A broad accented Glaswegian chap who's always really keen to chat about football is sat on the other side of my desk wall and has brought in a miniature 'no Scotland no party' desk flag, I assume with the intention of drawing in gullible English imbeciles like me into the regular bantered chat.
It's backfired however, as so far it's only attracted the middle class woman into patronising conversation about 'how well Scotland are doing' and how 'they always support the UK teams'.
I keep catching his eye through the partition and he's turned puce.
He's currently looking at photos of Toby and Rupert in their Tunbridge Wells U14s kits.

Not sure how old you were in 1978 Baz, maybe not even born at that stage, but if you were an England fan then you’d understand.
It’s not bitterness by the way, more a case of having a good laugh at the expense of Ally’s tartan army and its level of epic fails ever since. I wouldn’t actually mind if they did well but it wouldn’t be half as much fun.

If Senegal and Belgium win their last games then they’re home, both have easy games on paper.
will depend on if other teams get a hiding as well but they are pretty much out. What on earth were they doing last night trying to out play Brazil, was mental
