Doesn't seem an efficient use of our resources, especially if the idea of hiring a head coach rather than a manager is that they coach the players they have to do what they need.
I think it's a shame to lose his experience, versatility and defensive instincts, I fear with our budget we're going to struggle to find a younger player with all that and can contribute goals and assists but hopefully they have someone lined up who can hit the ground running. |  | | |

Field, at 28, is probably at the peak of his career. He's not going to get better and may well be on the downslope. To get 1.5m for a player the manager isn't going to pick is pretty good business in my eyes.
Sad to see him go, but it fits in with the trading model we need to have. | |
