It's a brilliant goal but what slightly spoils it for me is that the Swansea keeper should probably save the shot
We was waiting outside changing rooms to meet the team before the game and Adel 'stormed' out. I briefly chatted but cant remember what I said, but his reply was a grumpy "He has put me on the bench" and off he walked!!

It's my favourite ever goal, I'm not sure it's the best though and arguably his goal for us against Preston the year before is even better
we were lucky we got the best out of him and he struggled everywhere else . he was magic for us, some special moments with routledge, some wonderful goals and a real QPR 10 shirt maverick. he ripped the league apart that promotion year and supported all over by a great goalie, derry and hill, heidar and co.

He should’ve left us for a figure exceeding £10Mill and to one of Europe’s elite clubs. Instead you had the grubby public exchanges instigated by that charlatan who had never forgiven Adel for making him look like a chump when he released him from Spuds saying he’d never make it as a player. For every penny he wasted and frittered away you can add an unknown amount on top in respect of the finest footballer I’ve ever seen week in week out play in the flesh.
That season I always sum up in a nutshell as Barnsley away in the run in. One bit of early Adel magic cutting in from the left touch line and then 85 minutes of Derry, Hill, Paddy and the rest just dogging out a 1-0 win on a Tuesday night and a week closer to the title.
Not sure Benfica, AC Milan and the rest ever saw the superb player we were fortunate to witness for 18 months.

I count myself fortunate to have seen Marsh, Bowles and Taarabt play. Rodney and Stan were better players but Adel was without doubt the most talented man to pull on the hoops.
So many great moments. The goal against West Ham seems to get forgotten, I love how the whole hammers defence are just watching it go in, open mouthed and stunned.

Seem to recall he did well at Milan. Scored a blinding goal on his debut and didn't have a bad goals return for a short loan.
Wasted at Benfica - he rotted in the reserves for a couple of seasons before being rolled out unexpectedly as a DM
I love how refreshingly honest he is about his flaws and just how good he was.
Thats a man that has enjoyed his time.
As said he could have achieved anything but he did like a night out and for eighteen months at Rangers he did both.
The game has become increasingly stat based, increasing pace, power, organisation and tactical and perhaps a 21 year old Adel, even with a manager who realised he had to let the star do it his way,sadly i dont think he could have suceeded in the same way he did for us during that time.
Redknapp destroyed the talent and had zero idea how to manage him and i think it set Adel back a few years after in his career. Also, the Barton hatred towards Adel also was another reason.
Nice line that he is going to enjoy spending time with his family now and parents he hardly saw during his career.

to my dying day will never stop loving that guy , soon as you saw the tream sheet you knew something special would happen , a drag back , a nutmeg , saw stan wegerle 4but sorry nobody comes close to adel when on form , candelface should hang his head in shame on how badly he treated him . i think he would still be as good in the modern game as he was then he just had the lot , would have loved to see him and akos ithe same midfield a few times

I would argue that today, with all this side passing, he would still get his 19 goals a season in the Champ. This is the guy who would have gotten us 3 points against Charlton and Bolton and a draw against Boro this season. You see those games and you know if Adel was playing we would have won them all!

He also won most of his penalties as well.
And if he played with VAR he would have cleaned up, the amount of kicks he used to get was unreal
