Apologies if already posted elsewhere, but in his post match interview, Ben Hamer said he didn't know about the change to the 6 second rule (now 8 seconds) which is why he gave away the corner early on.
I find it baffling that he didn't know!
Thought he played pretty well otherwise.

Was he not watching on Wednesday? He was on the bench. The Southampton keeper conceded a corner like that. Honestly, wtf was he doing on Wednesday? How switched off was he?

Dont blame the coaches, blame the keeper for not knowing the rules!!!
It’s not good though, is it Gaz? Professional football club. Support staff coming out of our ears. Data and analytics recruitment, and we end up being a keeper out of retirement who freely admits he doesn’t know the rules.

I thought that was both weird and pathetic - if it'd been me, I'd have been embarrassed to come clean about it on camera. But then I try to have standards in my life and professional work.
The broader problem, as I've pointed out - given such institutional amateurishness - is the failure of the club interviewer/ writers/podcasters etc. to hold Stephan and his staff to task for these kinds of failings - especially given how JS loves to lecture us on how it's all about 'zer details'. And then he wonders why games tip against us! It's lazy, indefensible, and utterly infuriating.
This is where I'd like the likes of Nourry to become even more of a bastard/dictator than he supposedly is(n't) and really bang some heads together on our behalf.

I’m not sure you can blame the manager because his goalkeeper doesn’t know a new rule relating to goalkeepers. You’d think a modicum of interest in football and watching matches and listening to commentators that somehow Hamer would have learnt about this rule. I knew about it and I’ve never played in goal 9n my life.
It is staggeringly rank unprofessional behaviour that couldn’t be anticipated. Cheerily admitting this rank unprofessionalism goes to show how stupid some footballers are.

Don't care, came off his line loads, cleaned everyone out when he did a couple of times, commanded the box while our defenders tried their best not to win a header, a couple of good saves.
It's being so happy that keeps me going.

This exactly, Christ knows what abuse he would be subjected to on here if he had let in a soft goal. Plus we are always complaining that player’s interviews are so pre-coached that they are meaningless. is it any wonder when they get slaughtered for being honest

Well quite. Hamer has been, at most, bench warming for weeks and probably didn't expect to play until a couple of days ago. Southampton's keeper got caught out last week, and I dare say there will be/have been a few others too in other matches.
