Played For Both: Dale v Rotherham United 5th Mar 2020 14:11
This week, our “Played for Both” feature takes a look back at a former Miller and a former Daley. In fact, he had two loan spells and then signed permanent at Rochdale! 0

Match Preview: Dale v Rotherham United 4th Mar 2020 14:00
The fixtures don’t get any easier, do they? Dale are at home to Rotherham United this weekend with the visitors sitting pretty in second place while Dale creep nearer to the bottom three week by week. 1

cross was Morley ( I think)

Should be 1-1 but a bit of brainless football from Smith. Sanchez and O'Connel make a mess of it, it comes out to a Rotheram player who heads it into an empty net . However Smith decides to be greedy and touches it over the line while standing in an offside position. Would have gone in if he hadn't done so, and he was literally standing on the line and clearly offside

Dodged a bullet there

Much better performance than any recent league game at home so far. Ditched the pissing about at the back in favour of getting it forward early and playing with a bit of tempo and we suddenly look a far better team. If we keep this up we should take points from this game when I didn’t think we’d get any.

Big kick. Held up well. Great curling cross ball over the top from Morley. Hendo nudges it in.

Direct.

Direct but also the first and only? time we played it out from the keeper.

Scrappy game and they're a big team glad we're mixing it up.

1-0 HT ( Hendo goal number 125). For all the attacking they have done they have not had that many good efforts other than the disallowed goal. They definitely look like they can be got at at the back if Hendo can just stay onside. Their number 19 has caused a lot of problems down our left side but with little end product.

Lund is having a great game and has put himself around a bit. We have been caught with the ball a couple of times but have been defending well as a unit. Morley has pinged some great passes and if he can keep it going Hendo may well get another chance

Probably better than I was expecting but a lot of work still to do defending into the wind

They’ve had more of the play but I’d say we’ve had the better chances. We’ve looked good going forward so far.

Their best chance coming from Camps pissing about with it. Would take him off for Smith, just doesn’t look interested.

And the chance came after 1 minute. Another great cross from Morley, great header and a brilliant save. Hendo applauded the keeper

Good start

Whatever the outcome of this game, the shift in style has created a type of football supporters can get behind. We look in the game and look like scoring.

Superb by Lund. Battled to win the ball in midfield and then a slide rule pass to Hendo who had managed to stay onside. 1 on 1 on the keeper but made the finish look so easy

The main man's obviously making a decent statement about his 4.3 player rating at Portsmouth....

...and then there's a third! WOW!

3-0 Dale and the best goal so far. Camps has the ball in his own half. Camps starts a run, crosses the half way line, Camps sees him and lobs it over the top. Lund runs on to it, the keeper comes out, ends up in no man's land again and is easily lobbed bu Lund. I said earlier their back line could be got at if we stay onside, but this is dreamland !!
