Great that the US has been breached, 'kettle black' springs to mind, long may it continue!

The US says it faces a "dedicated adversary" and an "ever evolving threat" to the nation's cyber security, after a major data breach.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-33028158

The US is not some sort of idyllic ideal, as some politicians would have you believe!

It is folly to think that the US still has global hegemony.

This year at the Red Square parade in Moscow the west did nt attend for the first time...however both Russia and China run the parade as a joint venture for the first time...showing them joined together as the worlds new No 1 police force.

To celebrate such a thing and state 'long may it continue' is a sign you know very little on the subject matter at hand.

To allow China free reigns on the internet is massively more dangerous than any 'monitoring' the US and UK have been conducting.

Buy any electrical items from China recently that connects to the internet? Most have been found to contain dormant or active (but hidden) apps and backdoors that send information to anonymous servers in China , or allow remote access whenever required by users in China. Don't think you have anything from China? Think again - check where it was made to!

China isn't just an emerging industrial giant. It's also a superpower flexing its muscles, although it's Russia that steals the limelight. China has always posed a threat, and is now more regularly flaunting this position. These attacks are too coordinated and too well funded to be anything other that government organised.

But yes, as you say - "long may it continue" right?

Honestly hacking Beucrat level workstations isn't some mean feat. Especially when you concider that the US government contracting for technology is stuck in this very narrow field of supply due to the way our laws are set up to basically what accounts to a bidding war.

And aside from a very few departments where they get to work with actual gifted lads most of it is 10-15 years behind the curve. Honestly if you look at the shambles that is the governments' infastructures, you can see the massive issues the US has placed upon itself from working from the sprout of money as apposed from the most pragmatic way.

US Government.. not so unlike fifa after all.

Wtf does that prove ?. Metaphorically if a boxer throws 1000 punches during a fight, that doesn't mean he will win. So China are "carpet bombing" the Internet, around the world, where as the Americans and no doubt the British are carrying out 'surgical strikes'.

Russia & China are backward countries - no doubt have strong armed forces - but most of their technology was given / stolen from the west - and that was how the former USSR acquired nuclear weapons.

Try undertaking an austerity rally in Red Square, you'd get as far as a prison in the far reaches of China never to be seen again. If it wasn't for the might of the USA the fee world would be under the jack boot, ever see that brilliant TV series the Pacific, pretty accurate account of what the US forces went through, have a look at the battle on an island called Peleliu, frightening.

Brilliant series fair play and yes the Americans have done a fair job in policing the world since WW2. There have also been some very bad episodes and outcomes.

I m certainly not condoning the rise of Russia and China as the No1 superpower both militarily and financially in the future...but there it is like it or not.

Wether they will be agressive or passive who knows but things have most certaily changed...the US military is not what it once was.

Sorry if this is off topic as I have nt read the OP.

You're all nuts. You think China or Russia being the dominant power globally would be preferable to the Americans? The Yanks may be overstepping their mark left, right and centre, but from a Western/british point of view, we are far better off with them than nations which we have very little in common with culturally, historically and geographically.

Continuing slightly off topic, please excuse, allow me to outline the US casualties and losses and Japanese losses (note no one captured) on Peleliu, behind closed doors the battle is/was regarded as a needless encounter as the Island was never used militarily by the US after the Japanese had been eliminated.
US Japan
1,508 killed 10900 killed
6,635 wounded 202 captured
36 missing
Would categorize this battle as a very bad episode and outcome.

Indeed, to some USA is the devil yet, millions flock there to visit, work and live whereas Russia and their filthy history seems nirvana to some clowns.

Tip, talk to a Hungarian about 56 or even a former East Berliner about Russia and how its sordid attitudes killed countless people over many many years.

People fled west not East.

God bless America .
