Presumably because it justifies (in their eyes) them keeping their jobs.

Jenkins has a decent case for being the best man for the job. Dineen doesn't.

Jenkins has made a load of bad decisions over recent seasons.

If we want a director of football type, how about someone who has a background in football?

If I relate how sad this deal is to my own finances...

I feel like I've just got a payday loan but if I'd waited a few months I wouldn't have needed it because I would be getting a huge pay rise.

I'm sure that the board of directors recently said that after running the club for 12 years, they couldn't go on for ever and wanted to spend more time with their families.

So they sold out AND stayed on anyway.

Yes and they even managed to keep some of their shares so they can sell out again in five to ten years.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Would think that once the new ownership has been approved by the Premier League then the return of the new share allocation will be made at companies house and the official site.

Cheers.

Fair point.

IMO keeping Jenkins in the job i have no issue with, he has proven himself to be good at what he does overall, Dineen? well i'm not so sure, that's not to be mean but i don't think his record of running the commerical aspects of the club has been up to what it should be for a global product.

All the roles taken on by our board have been taken on with forgiveness in mind from supporters, now people will expect every aspect of our club to be run spot on and as professional as can be.

I suspect there will be a change of attitude from many people to those who will now occupy key positions, they are now eing payed as full time executives in a market where results matter, no free pass because they saved the club many years ago, it's just pure buisiness from now on.

They are full time paid executives already. I dont expect much change to be honest as the yanks will see what the current board have done and will want this to continue with some tweaking. Certainly for a year or so. Our success is not down to one person. They have worked as a team and got us to where we are. Only 2 shareholders have worked at the club for last 10 years . They must have done something right for us to be where we are. If the yanks can invest in the team and bolster the resource off the pitch we might just be on another ride upards.

To do this the Americans will need to invest a large sum of money. As they only own 60% would they not expect other shareholders to invest similar amounts percentage wise. The trust with 21% are not able to do this. So where do we go from here.

It will also be able to understand if buyers have call options over the residual stakes - if for example we retain PL status in next few years.

As this would be a way of structuring the deal to make Jenkins and Morgan - appear to give the illusion that they have left protections in - as per Dr Winstons thoughts above that with their residual stakes and the Trusts could achieve 25% level - to block special resolutions.

However if

1. Voting rights on the residual stakes have been assigned away;

And/or

2. Options have been granted in the residual stakes

.......then any so called protections spun in the press will be an IllUSION.

This is a major worry. Have those remaining in held onto their voting rights. If they haven't then the amount left in is irrelevant as the yanks will hold 79 percent voting rights.

The "investors" behind the frontmen will want some return for their money.

They need to keep Swansea City in the Premier League but need to do so as frugally as possible in order to maximise their ability to take money out of the club and show a return on their "investments".

It's a difficult thing to achieve and they need Jenkins on board because he's managed it for five seasons.

The question is can he continue to do it when the pressure from across the pond is even greater to maximise profits and give the "investors" what they want?

There could be something in this. We know there's a link to Erik Thorir. He's done something similar with Intermilan. In fact he's also managed to maintain a stake whilst selling 60% of the club? He's sold to the Chinese investors. And he's done all this making a healthy profit in the process.

And another thing, if HJ or LD don't cut the mustard with their jobs they'll be out the door quick sharp especially LD as the yanks will want total professionalism in both departments, think LD will be in for a rude awakening.

nope, the secret investors are billionaires.. they're going to wait and see what Kaplan and Levien can achieve before taking full ownership.

I can see what is happening here...

Billionaire shoves in minority stake
invites Kaplan and Levien to takeover
keeps the board on, due to their unbelievable track record
sort the stadium out, sort the marketing and commercial out, sort the scouting and academy infrastructure out, partner up with an MLS, Chinese franchise.. sustain premier league football
sell all of their shares to the 'unknown' billionaire investor.

I'm not sure what the Trusts position will be..

but this seems to be a false dawn.. I can smell something else.

I did say that was how I see all this turning out when this story first broke a few months ago. hopefully that part will happen sooner rather then later as I do fear the worst should disaster strike and we get relegated before such scenario takes place.
by the way that doesn't mean I'm a sell out if a billionaire came in, I just would sleep better then I will with these new guys running the show.
its a sad day that's for sure.

Whether these people have put in £60m or £100m it is illogical that they will let the club fail.
We do not own the ground so have very little assets to strip.
Let's give them a chance it could take us to the fabled next level..........
Besides it's now a done deal so if we don't like it should we buy a season to watch Bluebirds?

Aye, it's brainless. They won't TRY to fail. neither did Lerner or Ashley and they 'invested' zillions.

I hope it's just business as usual with a few important tweaks. Low interest debt to fund the stadium, and eventually the Skippy scenario. Life doesn't tend to follow those kind of scripts though.

Certainly I wouldn't want to see massive share dilution or increased debt to fund speculative player purchases. That simply has to be a 'live within your means' approach, that we would have taken anyway, or we may end up right royally f**ked. They won't gift us funds so you can forget this how much will they 'put in' for players shit that seems to be in vogue. Anything beyond normal revenues will come at a price, and not one that will be cheap in the long run.

Nope. In the first instance my view would be influenced by the way in which the share sale was conducted not the nationality of the buyer.
