Is this really the type of player we want?

He's awful.

Just watch George Byers in the U23s, far better than any of this crowd at dead balls and moving crosses.

Then we must play him. Dead ball specialist is essential. He's not a bad player either.

Seen him play a few times his deliveries against chelsea were spot on.Can't understand how he seems to be no where near the first team. Nice fluid player, decent at unlocking defences can't hurt to give him a go.

It's absolutely incredible that a premier league team hasn't got a player that can consisitantly put a half decent delivery in from set pieces.

Don't buy in to this "dead ball specialist" bollocks, if your on 30,40,50k a week, you should be expected to hit a f*cking decent sized target from 25 yards. Jesus, I've seen boys up mynydd newydd taking better set pieces that them clowns yesterday.

The last thing we need at the moment is to be promoting under 23s. They play at a substantially lower level.

I know someone will say they couldn’t do any worse, they really could.

Actually thought Ki was one of our better players yesterday, but yes, there were some embarrassing corners and free kicks.

You forgot 5 and 10 yard passes that didn't make a player wearing white.
Saying that he wasn't the only one failing at that.

FFS we used to outpass Arsenal.
Now we couldn't outpass a geriatric hospital team.

Just wtf is Clement and his motley crew of assistants doing all week?

Why did the sellouts and new board make such a fukup of the transfer window(s).
At least Kingsley was a LB who could pass and cross at times. Short of defensive cover so sold him. Fukin great decision Beaky.
Need a RB ah Angel can still do a job, Naughton was cheap.

Why are the Trust being so communicative?
Why the fuk won't they tell us the story of the sale? Put everyone in the picture.
Tell us the truth why you allowed yourselves to be screwed over and pushed an obviously weak deal.
Even Brunel would have struggled to build a bridge with the Yanks and Beaky

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

It never harmed Ben or Joey. Although we were forced into playing Ben.It might give the first teamers the kick up the backside they need.

Awful player. Offers absolutely nothing, nada, nil, zilch. Terrible, terrible player that hasn't been anywhere near good enough in all but one of his too many seasons with us. Yet he still gets a pass from our thick fans - and they complain about how we are where we are. It's incoherent.

Right so we've seen Ki, Clucas, Carroll etc, having a go at set pieces and all fvck them up with regular manotany.BTW Ki is supposed to be an international player.
I mean this is pathetic. Its your job to get things right. To instill confidence.
I'm sorry but I thought this bloke was going places, he's clearly struggling, he needs help.
Sorry guys I'm still fvcking annoyed!

If a young player is good enough to play in the first team, I’m all for it. No reason not to be.

What I’m not in favour of is promoting players just because they look good playing in what are essentially training paced games.

Joe Allen came into the team for a bit, but didn’t really make his mark until he had been to Wrexham. Ben was already in the first team squad when Taylor get injured.

Quality player who had a good game, apart from a couple of poor dead ball kicks. Watched Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, ManU today , every team had players who hit woeful crosses and free kicks today. Siggy used to hit some diabolical corners and free kicks.
What are people like you doing going to football games - utterly clueless!

I have to be honest. The corner when Fabianski went up for the first time, every player was in the box apart from Naughton (I think) and Ki scuffed it along the floor to the edge of the penalty area I laughed. Not because it was funny, but because that was the point I just became hysterical about the whole thing. Korea's David Beckham? Victoria Beckham could hit a better corner than that in 6 inch Jimmy Choos.

Having said that, I still maintain he was our best midfielder yesterday by a mile.

That he was, despite playing far deeper than he should be. He's the only one with any spacial awareness and able to pass a ball first time.

I'm amazed we haven't given him a shot as the attacking midfielder, it's probably his best position and one of many we're lacking in.

Spot on - but everyone makes mistakes and more so when under pressure.
Just for the non football people on here - in the 150+ years that soccer has been a regulated sport in the tens of millions of games played in that period there has NEVER been recorded a game in which even one player has NOT made a mistake. NOT ONE. Every player who has ever played the game from Ronaldo, Messi downwards comes off the pitch replaying the mistakes in their head. If people expect their players to be perfect , then stick to your Play Station.

He is a quality player who should be one of the first names to go on the team sheet each week.
By the way - the worst crosser of a ball yesterday?
Nathan - he could not even get the ball to land on the pitch, let alone near a white shirt. But because he scurried around all game (and deserves to keep his place) for some reason his major faults are ignored.
