What reception can he expect ? I believe he could be a future swans manager .

If he'd left when Laudrup tried to get rid of him he'd be coming back as a club legend. Sadly he stayed and stirred, eventually getting promoted to a position his ego thought he deserved but his talents didn't.

Unfortunately the "£90m block" has been largely overshadowed by subsequent events, which is a bit of a shame really. Maybe we should let one thing cancel the other and treat him with as much indifference as most rival managers coming here get.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Monk along with (man of many clubs) i.e. the relentlessly sacked Pep Clotet and SCFC's resident club limpet KOL (never worked in professional-U.K football since sacking) must be the most surreal managerial-team ever to steal a Premier League wage in its entire history!

You forgot 'sleepy' James Beattie

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Beattie_(footballer)

...
On 1 July 2016,
Beattie rejoined Clotet and Monk at Championship club Leeds United as first-team coach.[43] With Beattie a vital part of the backroom team, Monk's Leeds side finished 7th in The Championship in 2016—17.[citation needed] On 25 May 2017, Monk resigned as Leeds United head coach, leaving behind his backroom staff at the club.[44]

On 21 June 2017,
Beattie followed Garry Monk to newly relegated Championship club Middlesbrough as a first-team coach.[45] On 23 December 2017, he was sacked along with Garry Monk.[46]

4 March 2018

Beattie was appointed first-team coach of Championship club Birmingham City when Monk took over as manager on 4 March 2018.[47]

I stand in the North Stand

btw. I treied to find that picture of Beattie apparently asleep on the bench and/or articles mentioning it. Strangely the articles and picture are absent from the searches I tried

At the bottom of such searches I get the following message

"Some results may have been removed under data protection law in Europe"

His lawyers have obviously been busy boys and girls in getting the 'data protection' laws applied !!
It goes to show how the internet can be manipulated to get rid of bad news!!!

Its all a bit sinister really. It goes to show that if you find a bit of information on someone and want to make sure you can find it again, keep your own link. You wont be able to rely on search engines to find it again in future!

It's that 'jobs-for-the-boys' methodology that is so utterly ruinous especially for SCFC.

Monk has spread the ethos and taken it elsewhere!

Funny how KOL never followed Monk but there again (SWEP reported) Monk did try to get the club to re-employ KOL after he was sacked. Why not? After all KOL had stolen years upon years of wages stealing a living by being preposterously stuck to the club like a remora eel . Totally out of his depth with unwarranted and undeserved employment at a higher level....

Totally unprofessional practice just like Jenkins D.o.F and Dineen at the commercial dept helm etc.

Argus!

If you’re on Facebook try the Swansea city supporters page, someone will have it.

Poll: Can’t see the new guy coming in to sit on the bench so, who’s off?

He's the man responsible for us playing the way we have done for the past number of years.

Incapable of continuing to achieve modest success with the style we had become famous around the world for, we very quickly resorted to playing like most other bottom half teams. Many on here dismissed any complaints about the change in style because we were winning temporarily. You know who you are and I remember the names as well. They'll of course deny or wont even recall having that opinion.

If there ever was a detailed analysis of our decline then Garry deserves a number of chapters dedicated to his reign.

Points which defined the real rot. First game ofthe season at OT, the Shelvey deflected winner with our only shot of the second half, and the Ayew/Gomis game. Using the shit tactics that were his plan A, B, C and D. I hate Manure but those victories were as Pyrrhic as it gets.

The only two that saw through Monkball from my memory were Dwight and Warwick.

Spot on Monny

My post was aimed at winding up Dwight.....it was apparant early on in Monks full season the quality of football had declined it was more about huff and puff than playing the so called Swansea Way. More about shape rahter than using the ball and space

I could never forgive him for what he did to our style of play, and what his so called Mrs said about Swansea is totally unforgivable.

This is only football mind. He owes his football life to Swansea and she owes EVERYTHING she has in the bank to Swansea but still she fckd the city off and he said nothing.

Tedious pair of cnts.

IMO did untold damage to this club.
His comments about not wanting promotion under Sousa sums up the man or me.
As a player - decent but had to be taught how to defend a corner by Sousa - maybe that was his reason for the animosity!
Reception?
Ignore him

Promotion under Sousa would've meant relegation.

Hadnt realised Pep had followed Monk to Brum. I remember someone on here speaking really highly of him when he was with us. They had spoken to him and said he was immensely knowledgeable.

Yes he was - unfortunately, relegation was his specialist subject.

I like Clotet. I also think KOL was a good servant to the club. Don't agree with all this negativity towards ex players and managers that did their best for the club when they were here.

Great servant of Swansea City as a player over 10/11 seasons

Part of the incredible journey to the Premier League

Probably given the manager job too soon but that was Jenkins fault not his. And still managed an outstanding 8th place finish the Premier League our best ever in that league. Adapted the style of play which was on reflection a mistake but can’t fault his massive contribution to helping get SCFC to the top

Hope he gets a nice welcome back

Well it's safe to say I wasn't one of those names !

It's was harder to fook it all up than keep it going, somehow between him and Conn face they managed to royally fook the Swans for potentially many years .
