Swansea corner practice needed.. 18:26 - Jan 12 with 1056 viewsBrynCartwright

Come on Coops...get Grimes and Celina practicing the corners pal, as they are utter gash at it!

If they do not improve, get other dead ball specialists involved or recruited.

So frustrating today to see ball after ball completely wasted.

A draw up there better than a loss though.

It’s a strange one isn’t it? They are obviously capable of putting in better kicks but they look as if they’ve the leg strength of a 10 year old sometimes.

Other times they over hit it. Why we don't put a man beyond the far post for the over hit ball baffles me. How many times have we seen the ball over hit only to run out of play on the far side?

Or better still take the corner taking duties off Grimes and Celina because they are crap at it?

Give Roberts and Naughton a go perhaps?

They cant be any worse ...

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

Regardless of how good our corner delivery is (and it’s shit), we aren’t going to do a lot with the height and physicality of our team. It’s easy to mark Cabango, Wilmot and Ayew if you know nobody else is going to win a header. I know they can be infuriating, but I think we’re better off practicing short corner routines and throwing a few more of those in the mix.

We should be aiming for the far post and nodding it back across. And have a couple of players on the D to welly back any loose headers out. Child’s play but we didn’t do it. Celina didn’t play well , Byers had a far better game than him

Need to take some tips from Brentford and hire a set piece coach, Man City tried poaching theirs.

Grimes seems to shovel the ball into the air and Celina not much better. They're like novice golfers who think the have to hit the ball upwards rather than letting the club do the work. The best corner takers make it look effortless whereas these two make it look really difficult, like they don't have the strength in their legs. I don't get it. Byers used to take corners, didn't he? For all his other faults he can strike a ball cleanly.

Marsh's work on taking set pieces isn't as successful as Margetson's work on defending them I think it's fair to say. How many bloody corners do we have??? Wasted the bloody lot.

Good call.

Looks like England went for a visit before the last World Cup and Man City did actually recruit him last summer.

Brentford seem to be a very well run club and use quite a few specialist coaches to improve performance.

It's been the same all season and it's bloody frustrating.

We either hit the first defender or it goes over to the other corner.

If you can't get past the first defender you put a Swans player in front of them to nod it on, or have someone run in to get in front of them.
It is not rocket science and you see other teams do that kind of thing all the time.

Can someone forward this on to Cooper. Good read that...and pretty much common sense.

3 or 4 training ground routines mixed in with the usual crossing mixes it right up. Other teams don't expect it and it shows that we are actually trying something.
It's great to see something different when they try it on MOTD, and we have some great footballers who can muster up some awesome one-touch moves.
I really don't know why more teams don't practice them.

Why is there never any of our players at the back post? At least half of the corners go long with nobody there. Having said that Grimes should be taken of corners and free kicks with immediate effect.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Good little read that. Wish we could get someone in who could do that job. Surely not that difficult?
