Sorry for new thread,
But how bad do you lot reckon it’s going to get here in the UK?
I just been watching the news. Looking nasty in Italy.

My methods are not favoured by some but by god i speak the truth.

Nobody knows what is right or wrong at the moment, there is not a f*cking manual for it.

It is not a political thing.

You have zero idea on how to tackle it, other than things you have read that you think sounds good. That is no reason to think you or the others are correct.

Correct. Neath_Jack is the voice of reason as usual.

We are out of sync with everyone else, there is nothing wrong with posters pointing that out, it's a legitimate point, nobody knows what is right and what is wrong including you but pointing out we are doing things differently/doing nothing/doing next to nothing is reasonable.

Last answer to you, because you have had it explained to you previously, but we are "out of sync" with the rest due to being at a different point to them in regards the infection. You know this of course, you are just being a cock as usual, so off you go and bother someone else. I'm too old a cat to be f*cked by a kitten.

It could be said that containment is burying your head in the sand. What happens if exposure is limited? Surely that leads to a second maybe third or fourth wave of the virus? I don't know, you don't know, but jumping up and down about the government doing it wrong because they're doing it slightly different is nonsense.

Not sure why people are even saying we should directly fall in to line with other countries when their policies haven't been proven particularly successful in any case?

You need to accept that you may well get it, hope that it's not too bad and respect other people's space and vulnerability whilst you go about your business.

What is the story with the flu then, that can be a killer and there is no cure for it so what do they do they try and contain it.

Ill tell you what, as a bit of a test drive for a serious black swan event like a plague, or an event like the National Grid falling over for a week or a broken supply chain, the last couple of weeks have shown that the human race is clearly unprepared for such events. That goes from Gvernment all the way down to average joe on teh street. The behaviour people are showing is scary and defies logic. Look out if we have anything even mildly catostrophic environemntally, there will be absolutely mayhem and society will collapse.

At least one politician is speaking out I see and calling a spade a spade as he sees it.

What, you mean Sinn Fein s John O'Dowd.

He is just like certain people on here, people trying to stick the knife that is anything English.

Just an ignored form of racism and certainly not needed.

What idiots like that dont understand is the whole delay process is to be able to stand a chance of building an infrastructure to cope with the numbers needing to use it in the coming months. We simply dont have it. Neither did Italy.

As we are seeing with the crazy behaviour of the masses, its crisis management stations at the moment imo. Its not just the medical side that needs to be planned around.

This theead was great and informative for the first 20 odd pages btw, but the usual suspects have managed to drag it down as is their MO on here. Fücking tedious.

Well personally, I think the plan we are using is the best option.... I can't say it is the correct one as there is no correct answer here.

One thing we have to get is the timing of closing places as bang on as possible, pretty tough to get smack on. Schools need to be smack on..... Think that will be in and around the 2k/2.5k mark.

You can still have the flu after having had the jab, the jab is not a cure either.

But thanks to vaccines the flu (although still deadly for some) no longer has the capability of bringing our health system to it's knees as this does. This virus is much more contagious currently

Still not sure what you’re on about sorry. The flu constantly mutates meaning what protects you this year possibly doesn’t next year, hence new jab. This years jab isn’t next years cure, no one is saying it is and no one other than you is banging on about it. Not sure where you’re trying to take this.....? (Rhetorical)

.... so the principle of building up herd immunity and easing strain on the health system by controlling infection is a sound one then? No?

I was responding to your burying head in the sand post as regards containment.
If there is no cure then we have to look at containment (as well as trying to find a cure).

I posted this way back in this thread, perhaps you didn't see it or bother to read it.
It explains what Vaccinations do and don't do and Curing Flu is not one of them.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/misconceptions.htm
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/vaccines-work/vaccineeffect.htm

It helps prevent flu symptoms getting bad by alerting the immune system, but not for everyone who has the jab.
Read it for yourself.

ps don't shoot the messenger.

It’s not sound because we don’t know if any immunity will develop and we don’t know the long term health impact of COVID-19.

We do know that if you prevent transmission, the virus doesn’t spread. Apparently the behavioural scientists concluded that the public would not accept the necessary measures to prevent transmission earlier when it would have been far easier to do so.
