It could be said that containment is burying your head in the sand. What happens if exposure is limited? Surely that leads to a second maybe third or fourth wave of the virus? Ill tell you what, as a bit of a test drive for a serious black swan event like a plague, or an event like the National Grid falling over for a week or a broken supply chain, the last couple of weeks have shown that the human race is clearly unprepared for such events. It’s not sound because we don’t know if any immunity will develop and we don’t know the long term health impact of COVID-19.
We do know that if you prevent transmission, the virus doesn’t spread. Apparently the behavioural scientists concluded that the public would not accept the necessary measures to prevent transmission earlier when it would have been far easier to do so. | | | |
