Starmer is probably considered the most competent but he is completely robotic, devoid of personality and up there with one of the most boring people in existence. His performance as shadow brexit secretary was utterly disastrous, it could be argued it was hindered by Corbyn and his parties dithering as a whole though.
Lisa Nandy I actually quite like a lot of the time, she’s very cool under pressure and likeable but then she often comes out with complete and utter woke nonsense.

epaul, a great leader you say, I have to say a great leader would have thrashed Theresa May AND Bojo. Losing to May was bad enough but then getting thrashed by a serial liar, a philanderer, a man most of us wouldn't have trusted to walk our dogs, that proves how poor Corbyn really is.
He is right about the cleaners though, the staff who are considered the lowest, worth the least, the cleaners, the porters, the supermarket checkout, the shelf stackers, without those people on the so called bottom rungs, everything above them would collapse. The bin men have just been around, another group of unsung heroes.

The best leader possible would never have allowed Momentum to gain so much influence. As for backstabbers, he got rid of most people who disagreed with him and we were left with people like Thornberry and Gardiner.
It was the lurch to the left that scared a lot of lifetime Labour voters and sorry to 'labour' the point but when thousands of dyed in the wool Labour voters can vote for Bojo, something is very wrong with the Labour party.
Most people in this country do not want extremes of left or right, they want a more centrist government just one that puts the needs of the many ahead of the needs of the rich and powerful. Corbyn went too far in the other direction. | |

Come on. You can’t keep blaming murdoch for labours failings. The Sun follows popular opinion, they don’t dictate it. The Sun in Scotland is generally anti Tory, anti brexit because that is the prevailing opinion up there. They follow the public, they don’t lead it. That’s always been their strategy. When it became clear labour would win in 97 they switched allegiances. So they could carry on claiming to be on the winning side. It’s how they market themselves.
And for every paper or tv channel that hates Corbyn there’s one that loves him and treats him like a Demigod.
He failed because he was completely incapable of creating widespread support outside of his own kind. He was brilliant at preaching to the converted but any labour leader and Labour Party if they want to win a general election must attract a certain percentage of votes from the sort of people who usually vote for other parties. Even if it is completely unpalatable to them they have to appeal to the sort of people who usually vote Tory, or at least the people who bounce between the two. Newspapers have never been less relevant than they are now. The Sun has gone from 3 million circulation in 2010 to 1.25 million now.
People get their information from multiple sources now and yes, some of them are the likes of Murdoch, but many are not.
