Awful. Let's hope the police significantly increase the amount of stop and searches they conduct going forward and that extremely tough sentences are brought in to discourage the carrying of knives. The footage I saw consisted of police and members of the public providing assistance including CPR to casualties. It was very brief, but quite graphic. There may be more out there, I can’t comment.

I have lived in and have friends in Reading who are well away from this incident thankfully. It is not London and nothing like London where I have also lived. It is a large, wealthy yet poor, and overstretched town in many ways. It think it’s pretty clear this is nothing to do with BLM or any counter protest. It looks either an act of terror or a random attack. Could have been Swansea, Southampton or Solihull.
