How do you think she will play it?

How will Trump play it? I'm sure he will attack Biden personally but does his campaign focus on discrediting Harris?

So to go back to the OP

Harris is an astute choice for running mate. She is not particularly liberal and has strengths in her history over law and order. The Democrats campaign will be as centrist as possible, to pull at the significant number of GOP supporters who abhor Trump. Anyone looking at an overall poll (all of which give Biden a lead of between 4-12%) is naive, but individual state polling is perhaps even more grim for Trump as he needs a huge turnaround to retain areas he won last time like Ohio and Florida and even 'safe' GOP states like Texas are marginal. Its clear that allowing misinformation (or lies as they were called) is a key tactic for Trump again. Trouble is Biden and Harris are not Hilary, where there was clear doubt in the legitimacy of the Clinton's dealings. Biden is remarkably dull in comparison, though a man who has lived through significant personal tragedy like the loss of his wife and daughter in a RTA and his son's death a few years back.

A lot will be thrown around, but Trump's handling of Covid 19 is unequivocally disastrous and has affected middle ground support especially in 'retirement' areas like Florida where deaths are now rising again. Too many negative images can be used of kids in cages to federal 'hit squads' on the street (as used notably by Republicans against Trump) which will not help in that middle ground fight.

I expect Trump to regain ground and hold places like Texas, but small swings lose big states like Florida. It will be dirty, but expect that there is enough of a mess for Biden to exploit and win, not by a landslide, but reasonably comfortably. I think he just needs to show he and Harris are 'safe hands'.

Your descriptions of Biden and Harris are classic MSM and do not shine lights on both of their wrong doings, which will be brought out during the next 2 months.
Your slandering of President Trump using lies in the campaign compared to the mass outpourings of the Democrats and their lapdog mass media is also typical of someone who has not investigated what has been going on for the last four and a half years.
But you obviously believe what you are saying and nothing the rest of us have said or will say will change your mind.
Just like your attitude towards front line doctors.

Oddly enough it's a view I get from my conversations with American colleagues rather than media. You really have drunk the Kool Aid have you not?

I was expressing my view, based on evidence. not what is on social media. Polling for Trump is bad in key battle ground states. Trump's economy with the truth is well known.

According the 'lapdog' Washington Post Trump is now at in excess of 20, 000 "untruths' during his term

NYT has a similar article, but of course that will be wrong too. Despite being two of the world's most respected newspapers.

"Trump's economy with the truth is well known"
And you think with the Democrats it is not?
You may not think so but Democrat "Fake News" is very real.
I love the way that you attribute the blame for how the fight against COVID-19 to the Trump administration when it was made very very clear that it was the State Governors who were in control of how each state handled it.
Or have you forgotten that little episode?
Did you bother to read my post on the 15th showing where the real problems with handling COVID-19 have been?
The other point that you are totally ignoring are the riots, looting and murdering and social collapse going on in the Democrat cities with the blessings of the Democratic leadership.
Do you really think that the average american is not aware of what is going on despite the MSM trying to put spin on it or playing it down?
Or is that also the Presidents fault as well?

READ THE POST.

I am not supporting the Democrats. I am giving an opinion to the question Kerouac posted.

1. The perception is that Trump has handled Covid 19 badly. This is losing him support. I have not said he has- although this is really a federal not state responsibility via the CDC and US PHS. It is considered he was not bothered and put the economy first. This has also tanked as a consequence of poor control and leadership affecting employment
2.His handling of Blm and the subsequent issues of disorder have been botched. The incident of clearing protestors in Washington for a photo opportunity has not sit well with both sides, nor has the unregulated (and perhaps illegal) use of federal forces.
3. He is clearly in trouble in battleground states.
4. Harris is a much stronger running mate than the ineffectual Pence
5. Most analysis from media sources which are considered generally political neutral (e.g. FT, The Economist) are suggesting a Biden win
6. Trump was known as being less than truthful well before his entry into politics. He is an interesting guy, though his father was a sadistic bully and essentially a a slum landlord in NY.

I think Biden will win, given a storm of circumstances, though its not certain.

Everything you say is more applicable to the Democrats than it is to the President.
Yes he can also blame the CDC and Fauci in particular when it comes to debate time. Fauci is not liked in the US at all.
As to Harris, she is known to be a crooked Lawer, which will be made very clear during any debates.
Which by the way are going to be a major hurdle for the senile Biden who is avoiding any kind of questions, because he can't answer them.

Carry on believing it.

Fauci is one of the most respected scientists in the field of infectious disease. Again, most colleagues believe he has acted with his hands tied. CDC, like PHE here, have had budgets slashed and pandemic preparedness wound down in the last decade. Convenient fall guys-though CDC has had problems for decades with its self-belief as a leader in public health and infectious disease not helping.

Interestingly the President with the best reputation of taking scientific advice and implementing it in domestic and international policy to control infection is not a Democrat bur GW Bush. Did more than Clinton or Obama in reducing burden of disease in developing countries. So this is not partisan but based on facts and taking several views on board,

You also have pushed and pushed Double blind clinical trials.
Of course Dr Fauci doesn't bother with them, he is so brilliant his most famous two papers on Wegener’s granulomatosis, did not even have any actual control groups at all, no double blind. Just a comparion of his results to historical ones.
