How do you think she will play it?

How will Trump play it? I'm sure he will attack Biden personally but does his campaign focus on discrediting Harris?

Well we will see how well Dr Fauci does in the future won't we?
We will also see how well Mr Biden does as well.
You didn't actually expect to see anything in the left wing web sites did you?
I thought we had already explained that is never going to happen.

Advised six presidents. Older than Biden too. Perhaps he will get some deserved retirement for his excellent work and the respect five presidents showed him.

Funny how you keep saying how respected Fauci is in his field.
You also have pushed and pushed Double blind clinical trials.
Of course Dr Fauci doesn't bother with them, he is so brilliant his most famous two papers on Wegener’s granulomatosis, did not even have any actual control groups at all, no double blind. Just a comparion of his results to historical ones.
Then of course we have this.

And for the third time, mea culpa, I got that wrong.

Was expecting a SARS type outcome (as were many), but caught out be how transmissible and resilient SARS CoV2 turned out.

I've now admitted this three times-what more do you want, blood, sherry, strawberry squash?

Good job I work on bacteria not viruses then!

Sherry, or a nice glass of Prosecco preferably, haven’t had a drink in an age. Even that unopened bottle of Malibu that I won at Pennard fete years ago, is starting to look tempting.

Sorry Prof, couldn’t resist. Should be like me and have - no discernible expertise (that was what you said wasn’t it Lisa? :) - then you would have no level of expectation to fall from.

So to go back to the OP

Harris is an astute choice for running mate. She is not particularly liberal and has strengths in her history over law and order. The Democrats campaign will be as centrist as possible, to pull at the significant number of GOP supporters who abhor Trump. Anyone looking at an overall poll (all of which give Biden a lead of between 4-12%) is naive, but individual state polling is perhaps even more grim for Trump as he needs a huge turnaround to retain areas he won last time like Ohio and Florida and even 'safe' GOP states like Texas are marginal. Its clear that allowing misinformation (or lies as they were called) is a key tactic for Trump again. Trouble is Biden and Harris are not Hilary, where there was clear doubt in the legitimacy of the Clinton's dealings. Biden is remarkably dull in comparison, though a man who has lived through significant personal tragedy like the loss of his wife and daughter in a RTA and his son's death a few years back.

A lot will be thrown around, but Trump's handling of Covid 19 is unequivocally disastrous and has affected middle ground support especially in 'retirement' areas like Florida where deaths are now rising again. Too many negative images can be used of kids in cages to federal 'hit squads' on the street (as used notably by Republicans against Trump) which will not help in that middle ground fight.

I expect Trump to regain ground and hold places like Texas, but small swings lose big states like Florida. It will be dirty, but expect that there is enough of a mess for Biden to exploit and win, not by a landslide, but reasonably comfortably. I think he just needs to show he and Harris are 'safe hands'.

I also smiled and thought it must be a relief for Lisa now that you have a new obsession but fair play, your a good multitasker as you then had a go at Prof and Lisa, all in the same post. 62% approval in the under 30 group.

The context is in it's entirety that she said young people should be forgiven for petty crimes because they're stupid. No more, no less.

That's what the "Fact Check ruling" on your article states.

Then one of her spokesmen passes it off as a joke, which is fair because it probably was. She probably doesn't really believe young people are stupid.

However, the rules that these people apply to others and the culture of the world we now live in dictates that all jokes that could potentially demean or offend any group or individual are not allowed and should be taken literally as an unconscious bias or a micro-aggression or some other made up nonsense bollocks term that these people love to chuck at others.

You know what the reaction would be if the other side had made a joke like this.

11 times, ok show me. Do you think it ‘normal’ to exaggerate so.

Perhaps people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

The point I made about what Lisa said, I have never responded to before, even though it was meant to be so deliberately insulting she repeated it twice. So who is stalking who. However this is meant to be a forum and I am sure you know how it works.

Actually you were so obsessed with your entrenched politics that you actually posted that faux information on 3 threads as I recall. My point being it is not a good look when you are repeatedly attacking others for Supposedly similar things.

As for the Prof I like and respect him, he seems a genuine person.

Do you think you and any number of others are balanced in their repeated attacks on certain politicians, whilst seemingly ignoring others.

However given you put so much store by a uni education, Psychology was one of my joint subjects. In my initial degree Studies. Happy to help any time. Seriously?

Why would I be interested, I am interested in COVID-19 and the people that have been deliberately allowing the infected public to die unecessarily.
When you have many doctors saying that they are saving lives and they are being, ignored, berated, insulted, shut down, excluded from web sites and their integrity questioned I want to know why.
You don't appear to be even slightly bothered.
But I expect nothing less from you.

We all know how it works, Chad. People behave as if obsessed and then accuse others of stalking and of being obsessed. They accuse anyone who say anything negative of Labour of obviously being a Tory, despite what any evidence shows. When they can't beat you in a debate they resort to derision.

You don't need a psychology degree to figure out the problem. Some people have a hard time understanding they are wrong. It's a common problem and I'm as guilty as anyone!

On the OP, I read today that Trump has closed ground in the polls. It was mad enough that he won the first time, surely the USA isn't mad enough to re-elect him?
Is Biden a bit Starmer like, a bit grey and boring, doesn't the world need a bit grey and boring right now. There's far too much madness in politics and if Greece and Turkey go to war it could spiral. The world is truly bonkers.

I’m still a little taken back by the claim the New York Times is one of the worlds most respected newspapers. Respected for what, what the immediate question I had in mind.

Is this the same paper that said Biden was visiting “the breathtaking and spectacular monument as he reflects on the important role of our founding fathers.”

Then Trump visits it and it becomes “Trump makes divisive (it wasn’t divisive) speech in front of monument of 2 slave owners on land wrestled from indigenous people”

The bias in the New York Times is one of the marvels of modern media, it’s astonishing at times. If that’s what you meant by respected then yes I would probably agree. However for balanced journalistic content, absolutely not.

The polls are variable Catullus- the gaps are 4-12% but crucially Biden leads in many states like Florida- national polls are not that helpful . I would not say Biden is not beatable , but he is a strong favourite. Trump’s cause is not helped by reports like the bipartisan Senate report today which suggests strong links to Putin and interference. He may yet face impeachment again which may be turn out with a different end .

It’s very close. 46% Trump and 50% Biden on the latest spot poll, it had previously been a 9% differential.

It was a prediction I made months ago. I made the point that had the vote been in May/June then Biden may have won easily. However such is the way of the Democrats they overplay their hands. People are sick and tired of these people, having their Cities and homes turned into the battle ground of the stupid. Come November America will have had a guts-full of the Democratic backed domestic terror groups being allowed to hold the country to ransom.

As for Trump being re-elected, it is without doubt the best thing for America. I have touched upon the resounding successes of his administration previously, but having a record low unemployment rate, record low black unemployed rate and highest family median income in history is not something to take lightly.

Pre Covid, America was in the best position it had been in for decades and decades, possibly ever. That goes for African Americans too before the black people being killed in droves by white cops lie began to be pushed.

Trump hasn’t destroyed the country like they hoped he would, he’s done the opposite. So they have decided to destroy it themselves and blame him and say “this all happened under his Presidency”, it’s as foolish as it is transparent.

I'm guessing it was about ten. If not exactly it's certainly not far off and no I'm not going to count them. You bring it up a lot which is fine if not a little odd.

You're constantly bringing up Lisa in totally unconnected threads, this one being a good example. Once again, a little odd.

I do not repeatedly attack others for similar things. They're not similar at all. I misheard something on the radio. When it was pointed out to me I immediately accepted it and admitted I was wrong. Not quite the same as me laughing at Dad because of the utterly idiotic things he believes and the laughable websites he provides links to. They're quite clearly not the same. A bit dishonest of you to pretend they are really.

You went to university. Well done. If I told you I know more than you about psychology because I watch Youtube videos from right wing nutters you'd probably disagree. You'd be right too. Odd thing to bring up though.

Anyway, I could do without my very own stalker chasing more about all over the internet so could you stick to harassing Lisa and Prof please.

Thanks.

I have to agree with this analysis.
I don't care what the polls say I am sure there is a silent majority, a chunk of 'blue-collar' democrat voters, who will have had a gutsful of the events of the past 4 months or so sparked by BLM...
...and they know who is responsible for pushing this nonsense, over decades.

I would say Trump will lose the popular vote, in fact I’d say that’s almost a certainly.

But I think he will win the election in a close run thing. Which I cannot stress enough how important that is for America.

The markets which are driven by data and information with little to no bias has had Biden go from $1.61 to $1.78 in recent weeks. Without doubt the tide is turning towards Trump, a similar pattern we saw against Hillary where Trump started to gain ground right around the time of the Party Conferences. I think that’s a trend that will continue the more ANTIFA and BLM continue to run riot (literally), they are too self important to realise the damage they are doing to their own cause though.

Certainly all to play for.
