Well many times you don’t need any model to work it out. In my living Memory Carter, Reagan, Bush Snr, Clinton and Obama were obvious and pretty nailed on. Of course primaries could be very wrong too. A very partisan candidate could attract polling by loyalists. The election is unlikely to be decided by registered republicans or democrats who voted in primaries. As I said, would not rule Trump out but he has much work to catch up. Some very well funded ads from the Lincoln Project (Bannon and the wall) and RVAT (Draft Dodger) scheduled for the Republican convention- dissident republicans may be more damaging than than the democrats.
