| Breaking News: 2 police shot in USA 08:56 - Sep 13 with 6388 views | Dr_Parnassus | A video has emerged of a person going up to a cop car and shooting two police officers in the head. Protesters have stopped the emergency services attending the scene chanting “we hope they die”. They have since been taken to a hospital in LA where BLM and ANTIFA have gathered outside the hospital wishing for the death of the officers. [Post edited 13 Sep 2020 9:02]

| Breaking News: 2 police shot in USA on 16:23 - Sep 14 by Glossolalia | Why not just link bbc.co.uk/news in the first place, so people can see the supposed headline on the main page. Because I didn't see it as the headline you say is was. And there's no way of proving what page you clicked the link from. I was on the exact link you posted. It's very strange. I'll repeat, if it was a main-page headline, it sure disappeared fast. Aren't you at all interested in this? Previously struggled? Only with trying to get idiots to tell their arse from their elbow. For someone who persistently avoids questions aimed at them, I'd say you fail to meet most posters in the middle. Engage people properly or shut up, because you fail in most aspects of forum etiquette. And you still avoid the larger issue - the lack of proportionality regarding news items, due to the skin colour of those involved. But you won't walk down that road will you? Coward. I'm a Neath lad to by the way. Wonder if you're as irksome and condescending face to face. I'd be happy to find out. |
It took a whole 9mins for your offer to NJ to appear on the other site,
| Breaking News: 2 police shot in USA on 16:43 - Sep 14 with 1015 views | britferry | Mumbles Piers has joined in now https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ne but he's compared it to the death of George Floyd and he is getting a right kicking for it in the comments: - No no no Piers Morgan you idiot, one was due to a police officer doing as he was trained to do, with terrible consequences. The officer didn't go out that day with the intent to kill anyone. The other assassination was planned and executed by a murderer. - Actually, the cold blooded, premeditated murder of police officers is much more abhorrent than a felon being killed because he was on drugs and resisted arrest. - These are cops doing their jobs. Floyd was a criminal. - Piers is wrong again. The shooting of the sheriff was a deliberate act of murder. The death of the criminal George Flloyd was not the same. | |

| Breaking News: 2 police shot in USA on 20:39 - Sep 13 by FieryJack | Was on the front page at lunchtime, which must be a disappointment to you. Ironically the Beeb gave it more attention than most of the mainstream US Press. NY Times doesn't even mentiion it, nor, as far as I can see, the Chicago Tribune or Washington Post. And AfD is making an ass of himself again with his links (above) to 2 well-known, deeply-biased right-wing websites. As for Gradgrind, the OP, he's up to his usual tricks again. The LA Times, admittedly slightly left-leaning, is at odds with his garish account. I think I'd trust them rather the cr*p he gleans from Twitter. According to LAT, reports that both ER entrances were blocked by protestors are "unverified". One protester was heard to shout "Hope they die", not a mob chanting that phrase. Most damning, not once does the LA Times mention BLM or Antifa. Rather, they suggest that local residents have been protesting about police shootings in recent weeks, including the fatal shooting of a motor cyclist, and that these made up the bulk of the protesters. (no doubt, though, where some of the BLM idiots' sympathies will lie.) As ever he is adept at using exaggeration and half truth in the obsessive pursuit of his own agenda, and it certainly gets everyone frothing and cursing on here. The two officers are, thankfully, stable and out of the ER. |
FAO Glossalia et al. Neath Jack is 100% correct on this. I posted this yesterday. I'm not in the habit of viewing the BBC's US/Canada web page. It was defo on the front page, 3rd or 4th lead. In fact I'd say the BBC gave it disproportionate coverage, considering, as I've said above, how little coverage it was given in the US papers, and after all, people being shot in that country, even police officers, is run-of-the-mill and barely news-worthy unless there are unusual circumstances.
| Breaking News: 2 police shot in USA on 17:18 - Sep 14 with 968 views | FieryJack | "You know I won’t get You know I won’t get bogged down in such nonsense and will immediately cut to the chase and get to the root of your apparent gripe instead of dancing around sparring over such lowbrow nonsense." Gradgrind, I know you're probably fast asleep right now, but maybe you could deal with this in your "In Tray" tomorrow morning. I'm not here to argue with the content of your paragraph quoted above, just the style of it. It's lucid enough I suppose, but it might be an idea not to cram too much figurative/metaphorical speech into so small a space. It is a fine achievement to get "bogged down", "cut to the chase", "get to the root of", "dancing around" and "sparring over" - into one short paragraph. Bravo | | | |

It was in the front page of the BBC News website. It stayed there for hours. If you’re in the habit of tapping out individual website addresses to get where you want to go I’d recommend reverting to an etch-a-sketch.

I made the concession that although it may have been on the front page, whilst I was looking at it (check post times), it simply wasn't there. It sure went quickly, is what I've been saying for the past few posts. That, coupled with the misleading nature of NJ's link, has caused this. I understand what he says now, but it would be obtuse to suggest his wording hasn't have caused confusion. BBC has not given it disproportionate coverage if one compares it with their usual output. The sport webpage even now has numerous BLM articles; it just won't go away. And until crowds are allowed back into stadiums to voice their dismay at a political movement being connected to football, it will continue. Just like the Rule, Britannia! fiasco, we are being forced to endure this because conveniently, we can't be at these venues to voice our opinions. [Post edited 14 Sep 2020 18:38]

| Breaking News: 2 police shot in USA on 12:45 - Sep 14 by Neath_Jack | It was on their main page, ask Catty, he and I do not see eye to eye. It did have a picture and a caption, absolutely did. Stop spreading a false narrative. It was on their news app, front and centre. Do you see why people will not debate with you over serious matters? You cannot accept a trivial matter like this. Absolute bonkers. |
It actually didn’t have a caption until you clicked twice to delve into news for a specific area. It was deemed to be of no great significance by the bbc, I wonder why?
